Fun fun fun
Since I've owned this car, I've had replaced, under warranty, the transmission at 20,000 miles, the air conditioner condenser at around 16,000 miles, the amplifier for the Bose stereo at about 18,000 miles, and then about four months ago, at 40,000 miles they had to replace the arm mechanism on the hardtop convertible because the one on the driver side cable snapped and I had to replace the entire arm, no longer under warranty, but the cost was subsidized by GM.
About two weeks ago, I was driving the car and all the fans in the back came on, and the engine temperature started rapidly rising. got up to about 270°F, I was close to home and was able to limp back to the house and noted that the coolant fluid was low, so I brought the car back to the dealer to have that looked at as well as the oil change and recommended transmission fluid change given that the transmission fluid life was low. It was recommended that that be changed. They found a hairline crack in the reservoir for the coolant and replaced that, the cost of this was partially subsidized by GM as well. Incidentally, I found out that there is no sensor that monitors the coolant levels so I never had any warning from the system that it was low on coolant until the engine tried to overheat, which is a sensor that both of our Mercedes SUVs have on them.
So I picked up the car today after this work was done, and once I left work, while shifting from first gear to second gear. There was a clunk and a idle creep disabled message on the DIC and then a service transmission message on the DIC, and the car now only has first gear and third gear, moving forward, no reverse and no neutral. There is a tow truck on its way that should arrive in about 2 hours that will be taking the car back to the dealer to see what is wrong.
Fun, fun, fun.

Get it fixed, and trade it in. .......
The old rule is that it's cheaper to fix a car than it is to replace it, UNTIL you no longer trust it to get you home every time you drive it. (from Klik and Klack)
Time to let it go, and if/when another buyer calls you about the CarFax, let 'em know, .. hopefully before they go down the rabbit hole with it.

Fun, fun, fun!
I agree it is worth testing the battery to be sure that isn't the problem but I disagree that C8's are overly sensitive to low voltage. Yes, a bad or low battery will make the car throw some codes but it is usually pretty obvious when a battery is that bad. If tested properly, a bad battery will very rarely pass testing.
These cars periodically have a problem which goes away on it's own. The very act of disconnecting a battery will reset the computer. People will have a problem and replace the battery without testing it and have the problem go away and then attribute it to the battery. But it is quite likely they would have had the same result if they had disconnected and reconnected the same battery.

Fun, fun, fun!

Especially with the deals on new ones. MacMulkin currently has new C8 HTCs advertised with over $10K off on some of them. With that many issues on yours, I think I'd just look into a new/different one at this point. From my experience with 13 Vettes for every gen from C4-C8, most are pretty reliable, but it seems like when you get one with issues, the problems just keep coming. Better to get out now before you're paying the bill out of warranty.
Saying goodbye wasn’t so difficult. On its way to Porsche dealer down south. Mixed feelings many many compliments and there’s nothing like the acceleration and htc experience. But the multiple failures I had, tarnished the experience
