You’ll get a lot of different opinions whether or not the lift is worth it. From my standpoint, it’s been worth every penny. You just never know when you might encounter an elevated driveway or parking lot entrance or speed bump. I would say I engage the lift 8 out of 10 times I drive my C8. I definitely recommend it.

Its good for both normal and abnormal driving!

I have the front lift, and I use it. I once mis-judged a dip in the road while exiting a parking lot, and scraped because I did not activate the lift. I have since stored that location and it clears it just fine using the lift. So yeah, it works and yeah there are normal bumps and dips where it will scrape without the lift. Apparently many without the lift have never scraped, so it has no value to those drivers. But obviously it does for others. I do not understand why its necessary for folks to actually debate its value.

Here is a key point about it though. It does not detect the dips and bumps for you in advance. You must observe the issue, and activate the lift, then store the location. That may be obvious, but what it also means is that if you can see the issue, you have the option to avoid it if you do not have the lift. If you don't see the issue (as happened to me once) then you are going to scrape anyway. Bottom line - without the lift you have the option to avoid the issue. So, is it needed? You must just decide for yourself.

I would not have a C8 without front lift. I need it to get in and out of my driveway because the city does not break the curbs for residential driveway entrances here. I have the location saved so it automatically raises when the car starts in the garage, and again when I return. I have used it other locations as well, mostly for parking lots, and occasionally for things like railroad crossings.

I have the front lift, use the front lift, and need the front lift to avoid scraping where I live and travel. If you live in a flat area that doesn't have dips and such and you don't use the C8 for road trips you could probably get away without it, taking care to go slowly and at an angle when you do encounter something that would make you scrape.

Also, the front lift is less important if you get a non-Z51 and don't plan on having a front splitter.

I had it on my first C8 and hardly ever used it. Skipped it on my 2024 C8. Haven't scraped yet.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Is it necessary I don't think so but I use it a lot.

I'm in the no category, never scraped over anything. I'm careful and mindful of how I drive, pay attention and avoid any iffy situations. Just more to go wrong IMO.

I didn't want the front lift, didn't think I really needed it. Found a car I like that checked all the boxes and has front lift. I actually use it all the time so I am now a believer.

Yes. Because when you need it, you will def need it. People always say just go at an angle. That's works if the driveway / intersection / transition / parking garage entrance is wide enough to accommodate an angled maneuver. But in my experience there are situations where that is not the case and the front lift has spared my splitter. Lastly, your need for a lift goes up as you move from a non z-51, to a z-51 splitter, to a 5VM splitter, and/or are lowered, as this significantly changes your approach angles where every degree counts.

I wouldn't have bought it without it. That said, it can be very much a local need thing. .. ..

In every day driving, it's not needed at all, UNTIL.. a speed bump, a steep entrance, or some other "need" comes across one's path. . ..

If you're buying used, and the car doesn't have it, lay down and look to see if the underside of the splitter has scrape marks. That will tell you something.
If you're considering ordering new, splurge and get it.
If you're buying new off the lot, pick one with it or ask for a big discount for its absence.

It was on the Z51 that I bought from a dealer lot, and I am glad I have it. There are a couple of places by my house and when I visit certain family members that it is needed. I set them to remember, and the car automatically raises when I approach them.

I did not have anything like it on my Gen 2 Viper, so I got used to driving at strange angles up steep driveways, slowing way down over speed bumps and essentially avoiding certain roads near my house to prevent scraping. It is much easier to have the lift for the times that it is needed.

Get it! Best accessory ever. My car is a daily driver and I use the lift every day.

Had on my 2020 C8, had about 25 places in town remembered. Mostly driveways. One good example is FedEx. Off a 4-lane divided highway. Traffic typical going 60 mph. IF I stopped before going into the driveway and pulled in on an angle could just get by without scraping. The many times I had to do that would sure have been rearended. Recall whenIi scraped my 2017 Grand Sport (no lift option available) went into a driveway in town going very slow at an angle. But that was off a 4 lane road. Could NOT back out into traffic so crawled out forwad. Scraped! Can't always control where you have to enter or leave.

This is an exmaple with my 2024 E-Ray. Was planning to buy a splitter and side skirts but have not. It comes with a minim splitter. When I I scarped my 2020 C8 splitter slightly exiting a driveway in town thought will be no problem with the E-Ray mini splitter. Raised the car and heard a slight scrap. Wasn't much BUT without the lift would have been.

We have rain depressions next to curbs in town. The E-Ray wheel went into it and caused a geometry resulting in a minor scrap. Was surprised. If I had no Lift, would have been 1 1/2 inches lower!!

And that was with the standard Mini-Slitter that comes with all E-Rays. If I had a larger splitter, it would have scraped with LIFT!

Depends on your area. I have daily driven mine for 13 months and have never needed this option.
