When I had my C5 I just had to have a twin turbo set up, new wheels non run flats, new leather interior, modified hood, both tops, heavy duty radiator, lowered, new stiff sway bars, just to list a few. What a waste of money. Why does everyone get a great car then start adding mods Just drive and enjoy the car as it is. Once you start changing parts it never ends.
REMEMBER GUYS YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG AND YOU KNOW ITS STILL WHAT?

Some people like modifying and having something unique/different. I've had 13 Corvettes (every gen from C4-C8), and over half of them were mechanically modified to a significant degree. Modifying cars can be a lot of fun, especially if you have a purpose in doing it (road course track days, standing mile events, etc). But having said that, I've found more recently I'd rather just pay more for the upgraded factory car (i.e. Z06, ERay, etc) than modify a base car, plus I get to keep a warranty on it. You're very right that once you start modifying, it's a slippery slope, and often leads to a car that you no longer enjoy and have sunk way too much money into.
The real question is why do you feel the need to tell others what they should do with their property. If someone gets enjoyment out of modifying their car that's their prerogative, if you like leaving your car stock thats your's. The amount of energy people waste worrying about what other people are doing is unreal (not just in cars but in every aspect of life). Do whatever makes you happy and leave others to do what makes them happy.
I've built quite a few cars in my life and even though there are headaches and heartaches that came with it I wouldn't trade a single one of those experiences or memories. It's brought me community, friends, and experiences I wouldn't have otherwise had. If stock works for you then thats great, enjoy your car and don't modify it. Having choices is a beautiful thing we get to experience here in America.
And before anyone says it, I know my screenname is stayinstock... cause lord knows there hasn't been a single vehicle I've owned that stayed stock despite how many times I've said it.

Hahahaha. I don't think I've ever known anyone who modded their car and actually stopped once they reached their initial goal.

I loved modifying my C6. There really isn't much to modify on the C8 which is both cool and disappointing at the same time. So far I've put on a Corsa Exhaust and an Attack Blue filter. That's about it.

Yeah, the C8 it's more just exhaust (just did Corsa on my ERay) or go really big (turbos, blower, built engine). I keep thinking a 427 Eray would be really cool...

All I changed on my C8 were the wheels which I pretty much do on all my sporty cars. I love the car just the way it is. My 24 Mustang GT got new wheels, lower springs and 810HP supercharger just because.

When I got mine I had to change out the valve stem caps. Took three versions but finally found some I liked. Later I put plush carpets in. Oh, I got one of the small engine plaques for the engine compartment. And I did buy the transparent roof.
