FYI, the rear camera shuts off at about the same speed.
Tip: if you really want the camera to display any of its 5 (?) views, when you start going forward, if you time it just right you can push to camera view button and get it to keep the camera view displayed. It takes practice to get the timing right.

I never had a timing issue. I just turn on the front cameras when the car is stopped, switch to the rear camera, and it just stays on as I drive. I use the rear camera when I have the top down on the HTC sometimes.
I seem to hit the button before I start to park, so its already loaded on the screen.... which is a few mph too fast. So it takes its time to say NO.... then I have to wait, then hit it again while stopped then creep forward... would be better if I can hit it while moving in the open and ABOUT to park then as i enter the space and its tight not looking for button, its there becasue i hit it 10 seconds ago. ha. I dont need it at 70mph haha.
But my point is. both chevy and yet different logic but same lawyers dictating the rules?

I'm going to steal this. When I'm in the median on a divided road waiting to merge, I can't see a damn thing with that huge C-pillar blocking my view of oncoming traffic.

How I leave my house, I use to look out the C7 small rear window, with a C8 cant see crap, so have to sit Sidways in median so I can see, then pull out with a hard 90 and go ha. oh well

The ragtop on my '93 leaked like a colander and the rear plastic window hazed over time, but I could see better from the same intersection with the top up.
However, everything else is infinitely better. Well, except for trunk space.
How to keep either camera on at speed (works on my 2021, might not work on cars with the new infotainment system). I know it's worked for people with newer cars on the old infotainment.
Process:
Note: I had the infotainment screen on the home screen, displaying the icons, in case that matters.
With the car running, in gear, brake pedal down, press the camera button in front of the mode dial. The screen will display the input from the front cameras (I have mine set to display only the merged, looking down image, in case that makes a difference.)
Press the far left, rear camera button. The screen will shift to the back up camera image.
Take your foot off the brake and start moving forward. If this works like it did for me, the screen will shift to the front camera view, and continue to display that view as you drive. (I figured it would turn off when I reached a certain speed, but I got up to about 45-50 mph and it continued to display.)
Press the left most button again. If it works, the view will switch to the rear view camera and stay there. It's pretty stable - turning Z-mode on and off didn't show the settings screen, it continued to display the camera image. Pressing the home button, however, returned to the home screen of icons.
Having owned multiple GM vehicles with cameras, your Chevy truck is the outlier.
I know right? I mean i wish the C8 frornts would allow maybe 15 or so would cover me coming through a parking lot and going let me turn them on before i roll into that space. But its what ever and honestly expeected.
But my new 2500 I can use 360 camera, front or rear view, front left and right sides, rear left and right sides, all of them at any speed. the front R/L tire view you can legit steer it in the middles of a lane seeing that live haha very surprised it works.
Good info. In explanations/questions though one should differentiate between the cameras they are referring to. Front bumper versus PDR or rear back-up versus rear view mirror.
