24hLM got rid of separate GTEPro vs Am categories and is now just GT3. All GT3 teams must include an Am driver if I understand the change correctly. I don't think P&M have an Am driver. I could be wrong.
#81 Finished 3rd behind Porsche and Ferrari - very respectable. BOP is awful: Take a 670 hp Z06 motor and dumb it down to 500 hp for BOP
It now comes down to:
Aero
Driver Skill
Engine durability to finish
Wish they would change the rule to factory OEM engine with no mods and let the manufacturers fight it out.

Tried watching it numerous times over the weekend, just could not watch, all they kept showing were the protypes and their standings, never one saw the current standing of the GT cars of any battling for position, just occasional pit stops

The MotorTrend coverage was on Protos only, which was boring to me as well. I still watched for the spectacle.
Overall to finish on the podium at Le Mans is more than respectable. These are the moments drivers and teams dream of.

You are assuming that an engine built in "the factory" could not receive "special" parts or special attention,
OR
you are assuming the factory engines would not be put on a dyno, and the best ones go to the racing program while the others go to the manufacturing assembly line.
The later actually happened with Ferrari challenge cars.

I was thinking the same thing......I started watching and fell asleep, woke up for the early morning stuff. But it was still all about the Ferrari Protos and the chance to finish 1-2-3.......Yawnfest
I enjoyed the Simeone Museum event. https://www.facebook.com/SimeoneAutomotiveMuseum/photos/the-2025-24-heures-du-simeone-menu-of-events/1074987391325554/?_rdr They did a nice job.
Watching (and HEARING) classic competitors such as 1920's era Alfa and Riley, 1930's era Peugeot and Bugatti, 1950's Aston Martin, Maserati, 300SL, Ferrari TR and Jag C and D-type and 1960's Ford GT and Porsche 917 do mini-laps in the back lot gave me chills.
I did have a room nearby to spend the night vs. 24 hours straight at the event. A number of brave souls plowed straight thru, including a few families (including little kids) who pitched tents right there in the Museum.
I agree that the majority of coverage focused on the Hypercars was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed Penske being competitive and breaking up the Ferrari sweep, and the Caddy was barely off the pace. P2 got some coverage and is of no interest to me. But, it was not like there was no GT3 coverage! When I went to bed the #81 did not look to make the podium, but I believe a Lexus wrecked and the Aston had some penalties. And, so, a yellow C8 on the podium. Not P&M, but cool nonetheless...

Just a FYI PM doesn't run LeMans anymore, the European customer squads run LeMans. That was the point of going to GT3 customer cars. WEC customer teams compete at Lemans.
