So with the Z06, ZR1, AND THE ZR1X is that about it for the C8? Is the next model the C9 and will it be the all electric car that was rumored a few years ago ?
Just wondering

Yes that’s about it for the C8, except they may come out with a Grand Sport, which will be an E-Ray clone without the small electric motors.
2025 C8 Z06/7/E-Ray of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Hopefully this is about it. I can't imagine how much more expensive these cars are going to get starting from the next generation along with the higher trims/models. I couldn't ever expect $200k or 250k for the ZR1 and ZR1X. The standard Stingray is a fantastic buy, especially at the right trim level and with a good balance of options.

If it's priced right I think it would sell, I do like the wider body of the E-Ray over the Stingray, the E-Ray would have been my first choice over what I recently purchased if the MSRP wasn't north of six-figures.
My speculation is there will be more introduced soon!
#1: Grand Sport .... Wide body w/ new LT3 enhanced 6.2L
#2 Grand Sport X .... This vehicle is the E-Ray, rebranded to stop the bleeding from all the negative vibes of attaching anything with "E" on it to the Corvette!
#3: Z06 X ... LT6 w/ All Wheel Drive
.... My understanding is the plan is to offer "X" All Wheel Drive to all variants across the wide body platform.

Sure we will see a Zora C8. Have the license plate for some $lucky$ owner.
Sounds as though we could also see a SUV C8 Corvette. Hope they don't call it a Stingray or anything else related to any past Corvette models. Who knows, it worked for Porsche and Lamborghini
They just launched their $250K cash cow of the lineup. They're gonna milk it for a bit. I still think C9 will be shown in 2029 and go on sale as a 2030.

If General Motors Company (they aren't GM Corp. anymore) does a Corvette-type SUV, they should name it "Manta Ray".
But it won't be a C8 since it would not be a Corvette.

you do realize there is probably going to be an all electric corvette. Probably when the C9 comes out. Its probably in the works right now.

My "Guess" supported by what Mark Reuss said in a recent discussion with Jay Leno when pressed about a C9: "There is a lot left for the C8!"
First there is the obvious Grand Sport GM introduced in C7 when sales started to decline! It will be the standard ICE with wide body, iron rotor brakes. As my great stopping C7 Grand Sport (one of the best stopping Vettes ever) expect 6 piston larger rotors. (Heck the C8 Z51 takes 10% longer to stop than my 2014 C7 Z51 (and my E-Ray as the C8 Z06 with CCBs takes longer to stop from 70 mpg than my C7 Grand sport.) It will take some sales from the C8 Z51 but add overall.
Another I think GM "May" introduce is what I believe they designed when the E-Ray started in ~2012/2013 when the C8 was starting final design, "A Higher MPG" E-Ray. IMO GM did not start designing JUST a Performance Hybrid but also a higher mpg variant when it was to be required by law (which it was and all car manufactures understood and most agreed to the plan. We'll see if GM introduces.) BTW does NOT require a "bigger battery" just different type. Toyota had a none plug in Hybrid with a 1.3 kWh battery versus the E-Ray 1.9 kWh. It was a different type that was not a fast charge/discharge but achieved EPA 51 MPGe. Probably would not be for Tracking so could used less expensive iron rotors. When used with WOT would still get both ICE and electric motor power. But not sustained. Even now unless driving very aggressively the E-Ray electric motor is NOT used when just cruising (would be in the high mpg variant.) Expect might get ~20 miles on EV and not the silly current Stealth mode that once you engage the ICE and can't get back unless you stop the car!
We might see the EV Vette that Mark Reuss said was coming soon when the E-Ray was introduced. I don't think that is the C9, it will be called something like the EV1 and start new series of EV Vettes.
I think until 2035 or somewhat after you will be able to buy an ICE only Vette. (after that EV or Hybrids.) As the recently retired BG Plant Manager stated both EV and ICE Vettes can be made simultaneously in BG. The obviously can make Hybrids they are now with the E-Ray and ZR1X. So a C9 is coming! May be a somewhat different ICE and probably mostly new body panels would be my guess!
This 1174 Page Report from 2012 (I read and still available on the net) said what most car companies agreed to to cut CO2 Emissions in half. Essentially double the EPA mpg. It was to start in 2017 and buy 2025 the Corvette Family had to achieve an average ~39 EPA Average mpg (simitar would apply to all high hp 2 seat sports cars, Ferrari, Porsche etc). They had many pages of examples, this is just my composite PIC. It is very detailed and stated MOST car companies will probably opt for Hybrids (some EVs) to blend with ICE cars of the same model to achieve the goal.
IMO the GM engineer who said he was working on secret rooms on hybrid C8 when it started design in 2012/2013 was NOT just working on a Performance Hybrid BUT also one to achieve high mpg WHEN IT WAS REQUIRED BY LAW (BTW similar was being defined in Europe measured as CO2 emissions/km.) So I believe GM has it ready, question is will it be introduced OR will they introduce and promote a light weight 1st EV Vette with 0 to 60 of 1.8 seconds! Could do both. WE"LL SEE!
No offense but I think you're way off with the "high mpg" corvette hybrid. Did Ferrari. Porsche, or McLaren design a high mpg version of their performance hybrid supercars? I get that anything electric "scares" the purists. Just like I'm positive thar anything ice scared the horse drawn carriage people. Or the typewriter people when computers were introduced. But you aren't going to stop innovation and the advancement in technology has us at a place when even Porsche is using Electric on their halo car at the mod level. That means it's coming to the base.
I would not be surprised if you end up with more battery and a set up like the 911 hybrid in the C9. You could use less displacement and achieve the same performance as the battery tech continues to evolve. They already have it to where you can track an E-Ray or the ZR1x without running out of battery at 75% output of the power level.
Just like when Tesla came out, we are all going to have to eat some crow in the future regarding electric propulsion added to the ice corvette. Change is scary. Round taillights, no manual mid engine...
