Looks like it would be a good idea when installing to cover the entire engine compartment with a heavy blanket to catch any dropped bolts or such; just sayin'...

You are SO right. I have had the bottom panel off two times to find: an exacto knife, and a 1/4 drive ratchet with 10mm socket that got hung up on a spark plug.
Live and learn. Now I am super careful about dropping anything and always put a fender cover or blanket over the motor.

WOW... D1 those struts appear functional in regard to having no strut flex, plus an attractive design.

That leads to my forum question:
Do these struts offer a chassis performance over or equal to a Speedway Composite X-brace?

The OEM strut weighs 1lb 3oz. The d1 strut weighs 3lb 3oz. That's about equal to the amount of beer I drank last night so I'm not worried about the weight.
If you had a stress analysis program I'm sure you could prove they are way stronger.

d1 struts create some precision detail in the engine compartment. The OEM struts are really boring.
Stronger? yes
Weight more? yes
Appearance? Priceless
