Beautiful!

I had that same car, same color...my first Vette. Bought it used when it was 5 years old.

Too bad he has the windows up with the top off. Is that a 1960?

What's wrong with having the windows up and top down/off.. I am assuming you have owned a convertible before?

Yes, I have owned a convertible before. I think it looks stupid to have the windows up with the top down. Same with my coupe. if the top is off, the windows are down.

Not so stupid when considering....maybe... just a thought.... he just came off of a freeway drive and had the windows in the up position to reduce wind noise, that is what I do ALWAYS when I am driving at higher speeds with my convertible/HTC in top down mode.

I wear hearing aids. I love the top down but at higher speeds I have to have the windows up because the wind noise in my hearing aids is highly amplified. Sorry. Old guy problems.

I agree. 17/18 inch on a classic is just perfect.

No need to apologize... it's not an old guy problem... wind noise in a convertible when driving at highway speeds can be annoying, drowns out the radio or makes it nearly impossible to have a conversation with your passenger.
And on those cooler Fall / early Winter days and evenings when your still enjoying driving the convertible, again windows up when driving at speed helps reduce the chill of cold air rushing into the car cabin.

What may look "stupid" to some people may be due to their lack of understanding the usage scenario completely or possessing some common sense...

Good way to get some time off - implying a member here lacks common sense. You make a lot of incorrect assumptions in your insult. I drive with my top off at highway speeds - the windows are DOWN. Regardless of why they may be up with the top off, it looks stupid to me and I just won't do it.

It was not meant to be a direct "insult" (note the smiley face).
I guess as the moderator you can say things with out taking any responsibility.... saying something looks stupid because others do it can be considered an insult in itself because your comment may be implying their stupid for doing something stupid...
Perhaps just saying your opinion about convertibles and driving with windows up/down without the useless "it looks stupid...." comment as an extra description would have been more tasteful and tactful to prevent any misunderstandings, as a moderator you should know this and we would not be having this conversation.
