I’m heading to the dealer tomorrow to check out a 2022 C8 Convertible 3LT I’m interested in buying. Anything specific about the C8 I should be cautious of or look for?
It has some body mods but I believe everything else is mechanical stock.
I’ve had my C5 for quite awhile. I’ve done about everything I can or want to do to the car. I’m ready for something different.
With over 30k miles, make sure there are records for the 7,500 mile DCT service and the one at 22,500. Car has a 5 year/60k drivetrain, but if those services haven't been done it could get a warranty denial if there is an issue.

Oh man! You found it. I thought I should’ve added the mileage afterwards….
It’s at a local Chevy dealer so I’ll make sure it was done or at least make sure they did it. I’ll definitely ask the questions.
The 3lt dash may bubble. The ground effects and wing are not stock so maybe use that to lower price. Good luck.
Thats just less money I gotta spend modding it.
I’ll make sure the wing was mounted “professionally”. It’s just a stingray, we’re not talking about a collector car. As long as the mod isn’t held on with 3M tape, I’m fine with it.
Check it out very thoroughly, I'd even get an experienced C-8 owner or mechanic to go over it closely as well.
Personally, I prefer the coupe but you get what you want.
You may be getting into a car that has issues and problems, you just never know.
if he price seems to be too high, I would no hesitate to order a new one from a dealer that has them in stock.
Being 3 years old beside the DCT filter change the car is due or will be due shortly for the transmission fluid to be flush which depending on the part of the country u are in will run $900-$1500
If you miss the 3 year transmission fluid change, GM could void your warranty on your transmission if you have problems after 3 years. I have seen threads on this form where GM declined the transmission warranty for failure to change transmission fluid at 3 years.

Yeah, that car went into service on October 10th of 2021, so it needed to have the DCT fluid changed by October 10th of 2024. If that hasn't been done and documented that may be a problem as noted by others.

As per usual…got screwed over by the dealer. Drove all the way across the city to be told they sold it out from under me last night….I was literally working with the salesman up to 4pm yesterday. He had the keys locked in his desk. Hit him up when I was on my way and he said nothing. I was obviously pi$$ed so I left. Of course, on my drive I got a call.
they’ve got a white 2021 with 1000 miles. I’m told the owner of the dealer groups personal car. It’s a 3LT but without all the aftermarket adds. It seems like they’re trying to make it right. They offered it to me at 71k with 599.00 dealer fee. It’s listed on the site for 77k
The white car has an in service of April 20 2021, so it needed to have a DCT fluid change performed by April 20th of 2024 irrespective of mileage. (it's miles or 3 years) If that has been done, looks like a better deal to me. Starting out at 30k miles means if you just enjoy it little you have a 50k mile car and you've really trimmed your potential buyer base down the road.
Wheels aren't what is on the window sticker if that matters to you at all.

I’m thinking of countering at 71 out the door with the extended warranty thrown in. The price seems fair with the low mileage, but the 2021s are all over the country with 10-15k miles around 68k.
i told the salesman on the phone if we did anything I need to walk out feeling like a King.
I’ve also got my trade that Chevy is trying to screw me on. I’m one of those suckers that bought a ZR2 Silverado. Since the market is “uncertain” about the 6.2, it’s currently devalued by about 10 grand. They’re giving me right at 50k for the truck with 22000 miles.
I only found one 2021 convert in the country that had miles lower than that one. If you put 10k a year on the car you've enjoyed for a year and are where you would be starting out with one of those other ones. Just saying.

This car is a lot better. Wonder why the front winglets and side attachments are black, when the car is optioned with body color exterior accents? Great options and this car is fully loaded.
Only 1K miles, where has it been stored? Need the time service records on yearly oil change and the DCT filter change at every 2 years with the DCT fluid changed at year 3. GL

💯 I’m talking with the salesman now. They’re verifying the service was done and seeing what they can do on the warranty. I’m betting they come back to split the cost…
I feel pretty good about the price but the warranty would make me reasonably comfortable. I’m confident doing absolutely anything to my C5. This thing is a different animal. Just watching the top go up and down gives me nightmares

They could give you a lifetime warranty, and if GM says there's no service record of the 3 year DCT filter, it could easily get a warranty denied on a claim, that's what's at stake here. I would want to see the service history in writing, not some salesman's word that everything is fine.
If you buy a new one, you have the option to go to Spring Mountain and also option R8C, NCM delivery.
I did both and it was awesome.
I'd be real careful buying used, very careful.
