Love my 2024 Z51 but at 6,600 miles the transmission started to clunk and slip when downshifting with the paddles. Still under warranty but I have to deal with my local dealership AND GM. Been in the shop for 2 weeks already. The dealership predicts 3-4 weeks to get it fixed!
GM is definitely slowing down the process. Cannot decide whether they will change the transmission for a new one or rebuild the existing. They have already tried a software "upgrade"...no improvement. 95K for a car and this is the level of service you get. Any suggestions to expedite this process? Should I insist upon a new transmission? (This is my 4th Vette) 🧐
Contact Chevrolet Customer CAre to see if they can help. Lemon Law may be an option. It won't help you expedite the process but it may get you into another car.
Just contacted Chevrolet Customer Care 1-800-222-1020
The rep said she is "escalating" it to a higher response level which will include getting some regional advisor involved who
will be contacting me within 2 business days. I do believe my local Chev Dealer is chaotic and partially responsible but I also believe
GM is incredibly slow at fixing these known problems.
I'll report back if Customer Care Services does any good.
Thanks again Rick.
Customer Care should be relabeled Customer Abuse. They said it's not unusual to take 4 weeks to fix a transmission on a 95K car with less than 7K miles. Customer Abuse administrator said the problem is that it doesn't fit my time frame! What? The real problem is GM is slow to respond, many Chev dealer repair shops do not have needed parts on hand for known problems. Bottom line, they don't give a dit about their customers. I've owned 4 Corvettes and this will most certainly be the last one. Buyer beware...their warranty is only a piece of paper and GM Dealerships are nowhere near the service quality of a Lexus or Honda.

Are you eligible under the Lemon Law? I see you are in California. As long as you purchased the car new you are eligible if your car is out of service for 30 days and it is still under warranty although it has to be within 18 months of purchase.
Probably why they told you it would be 4 weeks. It's just under the 30 day trigger most states require. Park it on their lot and let them take their time.
Welcome to the club (not). Do an "Advanced search" here and read others experiences, many similar. We are at GM's beck & call for such matters, not only regarding just issues with the wonky transmission. Relax... and, best of luck.
My 2024 was at the dealer for 42 days and they replaced the clutches rather than the transmission. My symptoms were the same as many have had in that it would buck and shake when stopping just as you would expect a manual transmission with crap on the clutch to act. So far it is fine after the repair, but I have initiated a lemon law claim. So far they keep offering insufficient money but no buy back nor an amount to make me feel less concerned when it goes out again. I have no faith in *this* transmission. It went in the shop with around 9,000 miles and am now at almost 12,000 miles.
I have asked them to replace the car or give me a reasonable amount of cash and an extended warranty. My lawyer, who has dealt with GM before said they will absolutely not give me an extended warranty, so I asked for more money and will buy my own GM extended warranty.
Hey brother, I feel your frustration. I’ve got a 2025 C8 Stingray, purchased in March this year, and only a few weeks into ownership I started having transmission issues. Dealer told me it was “driving error.” I’ve only noticed it in LA’s bumper‑to‑bumper traffic when I’m at a complete stop and then give it gas. Never happens during normal cruising, just in those stop‑and‑go situations.

The DCT should behave mostly like an automatic since the driver is not controlling the clutches, there should be no bucking.
An extended warranty on the DCT would be acceptable by me

My 2025 Stingray's transmission went out around 400 miles and only the third time I drove it. It took them over two weeks to figure out it needed reprogrammed. It set a code, something to do with overheating. It would only shift using the even gears or sometimes the odd ones.
My wife and I are old and the last thing we need is to be stranded somewhere in the heat! I have no confidence in the car at all even though it's running perfectly now.
