Ok so I have a Ceramic Coat question. I see all sorts of answers on how soon you can was fresh Ceramic Coat..
My car is getting Ceramic Coated on Monday and we're leaving for Carlisle on Thursday morning. It will be a 4 hour trip and I'm sure the car will be filthy by the time we get there. Will it be ok to use a waterless wash and should I use a Ceramic detail spray after?? I'm thinking I should be fine but just looking for some advice from anyone that's had it done....
carpro ech20 rinseless…just follow directions on the label….. you can use the trashcan as a bucket that you get in the hotel room provided that it’s clean… I do it all the time.
search you tube for the “gary dean” method for rinseless washing, i’ve been doing it for 10 years this way.
Mine gets the coating next week i too have questions but i will check with the installer first just to be sure of what to do /what not to do and when to do it . My sole reason for the coating is i am too old n lazy to wash n wax . 6 days of ownership .
First ask folks doing the coating. It depends on how they “cure” it (by infrared) or something else. Paint should be corrected first & ceramic done in a dust free environment to prevent “specks” sticking to it & causing rough spots. I had my 2 C7 Z06s done professionally by a high end shop in Springfield, Mo. They even shot drone video of my yellow 2016 Z for commercial use from sides & overhead. 👍. Let us know how it turns out.

Applying ceramic coating on a new car is one of the easieat things to do. I used Gyeon CanCoat. Claybar, prep and coat. Took about 2hours 10 months ago and still has a crazy amount of hydroponics and shine. About $100. To each's own, just wanted to share because I was going the pro route but someone told me about this product and how easy it was, I gave it a shot and glad I did. Im about to put a refresher on even though it doesnt need it. Should only take about 1.5 hours including hand wash.

I was going to try it myself also but I wanted to get a good paint correction done on it and figured they probably should just do the Ceramic Coat as long as it was there..
i’ve been using Cancoat for about a year, and my car’s garaged so I’m getting upwards of eight months to maybe a little longer on one coat. It’s great, mistake free and so easy to use. It’s my go to from now on. I do top it monthly with car pro elixir… Just as a detailer.
Totally enjoy how half of the responses do not answer your question. I've had both my Vette and wife's X3 coated. My detailer said 3 days without getting them wet and no washing till a week is up.
In your case ask your detailer. You don't want to screw up a coating job because will will be even more expensive to fix than the original coating has cost you.
5 years ago I Ceramic coated with Adams and it has never been washed and this week someone came up to me and ask if I had just had my C8 Ceramic coated?

Did you DIY using Adams Graphene or have it done by a detailer? And how many miles in 5 years have you driven?
I ask because I did a DIY using Adams 3 years ago this October and have 13k miles. IIRC, the life of the DIY Adams spray is around 1 year and it's overdue for a new application. The water doesn't bead as well as it did before. I do use Meguiers ceramic detail spray occasionally. When I wash my C8 I use Jay Leno's ceramic car wash.
I've always heard after having ceramic applied to wait 14 days from washing it or from getting it wet.
I'll have to ask my guy this week. I always was under the impression that it was 48 hours before you can get it wet and 7 days to cure??
Like i said I have no idea for sure and will check it out this week and will post what he says...

Best to ask the guy you used. Could be different from one product to another. I just had a vehicle ceramic coated last week. I was told not to wash for a week. When I asked what happens if it I was to get caught in the rain for that week. They said it was ok to get wet, just don't use soap for a week.

Ok this just in and like many others my guy told me not to hard wash it for 10 days. He again said it's ok if it gets rained on as that won't do any damage but you defiantly don't want to use any car soap until that Ceramic Coat is fully cured.. So there you have it, my car at Carlisle will be the dirty Carbon Flash 70th Anniversary in the reserved fun field LOL....
Every ceramic coating is different as far as some main points which are: how long do you have to wait until you get it wet, how long do you have to wait until you wash it, what ceramic detailer/topper/drying agent should you use. The best person to ask is the guy applying the coating because he will know the specifics for the brand of coating he is applying, everything else is just a guess
