Default 2026 transmissions

If it’s been posted here, I missed it. But any changes/improvements in the 2026 transmission to lessen the frequency of transmission failures? Yes I know that the vast vast majority have no transmission issues. However in my opinion, the frequency of transmission issues for a $70-100,000+ car is ridiculous.
Oh, and I just received the recall notice on my 6.2L Silverado.
I’m considering trading my 24 for a 26 SR.

Dale06, how many miles do you drive a year?
Have you had any problems with your2024?
Do you know how much it will cost to upgrade to a 2026?
Have you considered an extended warranty?

I love the idea of trading up but with the Corvettes being discounted, used ones are heavily depreciated. Might cost you $12k-$15k?
I too have a little fear of a major failure. If it happens, I will definitely trade my 2024 in. I do have an extended warranty.
There really isn't any significant improvements in the 2026. If you wait till next summer, you can buy a left-over on the lot 2026.

Hope you find peace and enjoy your 2024.

Someone posted the Consumer Reports used car reliability data for the C8 on this forum. The transmission reliability was about average (some years better than average other years worse) so the frequency of transmission failures is about the same as other cars.

But to answer your question GM hasn't disclosed any DCT changes for 2026.

You are absolutely correct that there will be discounted 26 models at the end of the model year. I’m kinda picky and if I’m going to spend $90-100,000 on a car, I want to spec it exactly like I want it.
Again, thanks for the comments

Thanks for the good comments.
i have about 5000 miles on my 24 SR, pretty much all local city miles.
Yes, I will eat a lot of depreciation, if I trade my 24 for a 26.
I do have an extended warranty on my 24 SR.
That warranty takes care of the financial issue but does nothing for dropping a transmission on an important trip, many miles from a dealer that can fix the car, plus the down time waiting weeks or months for the fix.
No doubt there will be discounted 26s eventually, but I’m kinda picky. If I’m spending that kind of money, I want to spec the car exactly like I want it.
Again, thanks for your valid comments.

What is the frequency of failures that you are referring too? Do you have actual numbers for each year or are you reffering to how many times you seen a thread bumped in the forum? All I could find was reliability numbers which are not specific to transmission.

Is your 24 SR paid for - meaning, YOU own it?

Will you be paying cash for the new 26 less trade in?

Never could understand people who swap cars like underwear ... BUT ... to each their own
