Museum delivery tips?
I’m taking museum delivery early September. I live in south Florida (~930 mi. from bowling green).
Any tips on protecting the car?
I was thinking:
1. LPO front intake covers
2. Side intake covers (museum store discount)
2. ACS rock guards (delivered to museum and installed)
2. 2 6”x40’ Tracwrap
3. Novistretch?
Wrap it at the museum? The Hotel SYNC?
Thanks!!
You don't need a garage - heck, if they can steal one from the plant, any hotel or garage is fair game!! LOL. Stay where you feel most comfortable.
R8C was great for me and my 25 Rd Mist HTC Z61

Just run it until you get to your 1st wash or your final destination and you can get PPF at your nearest local vendor.
We stayed off the interstate highways. The break in procedure doesn't want you driving at a constant speed or using the cruise control anyway. We stayed on the larger, non-interstate highways that took us through the smaller towns. Whenever we stopped the car would draw a crowd. Make the trip back home a part of the fun too.
Enjoy it.

I will start with The Hotel Sync: I have stayed at The Hotel Sync on two occasions. I love the hotel.
* Convenient location. Assembly center is around the corner and on the other side of the road is the NCM.
* Rooms are large, clean, and nice. These are converted apartments. A full size kitchen, separate living room, two large screen televisions, separate Climate systems for living and bedrooms (The shower in the room I had made me so jealous I went home and called my contractor to redo mine) Downside: Concrete floors in the two rooms I stayed in. (not much of a downside)
* They offer garages for an additional fee to park your new baby in if your staying overnight after taking delivery. $30.00 fee when I was there
* It is very quiet
* Very friendly staff ( if you arrive before check in they allowed me to store my luggage in the room so it would not sit around in a hot car all day
* The owner Mr. Patel is very responsive and friendly.
Not trying to talk you out of staying at The Hotel Sync just pointing out the right next to Sync is the Sleep Inn and Mainstay Suites Never stayed at either.
Wrap at the Museum:
There are those who have used the services of the vendor associated with the Museum. I checked them out found them to get very high marks from those who have used their service. But all that convenience comes at a very high cost. Then should you have a problem who are you going to bring it back to? In the end I passed on this option I have my guy back home who I trust and know their work.
Tracwrap and Novistretch:
This forum gave me the best answers on this topic Like Nancy Reagan said "JUST SAY NO". I know I know its not just any car it's a Corvette but at the end of the day it's a car that is meant to be driven and enjoyed. Just hit the start button and enjoy the ride home. That is exactly what I did 651 miles back to Baton Rouge it was a blast. Oh and no cruise control
As to your other questions those are personal choices I passed on all that stuff. As far as radiator and side intake screens I like the ones from another company better. had them on my 2020 SR so I will use the same brand on my Z06. I took the plunge on one item at the Museum it was because I could not stand the look of the car with the chrome lug nuts against those black wheels. Yes I paid a premium for that convivence.
The main advice I would like to pass on is that the delivery day is going to go fast (that sucks). Take the time to not rush through it enjoy it. It is an experience. If you feel rushed, let your host know that you want to slow it down. They understand the significance of this day to the new owner and want them to have a great experience. Once it starts that journey off the boulevard and exits the hallway into the wild, it's over, so enjoy it. I had Stacy as my host, and he was excellent. All the hosts know these cars inside and out. I was his 1019th delivery since he began.
Oh, if you're flying into Nashville and renting a car to drive to Bowling Green, which is what I did. Rental cars are easily dropped off in Bowling Green, and I Ubered to the museum. After dropping my car off and doing walk around with representative in which I was told all was good with the car two weeks later I get an email from company claiming that there was damage. Good thing I photograph and do a video walk around of the vehicle at pick up and drop off. Good luck Enterprise on collecting on this claim.
I stayed at Hotel Sync also.
When I left that hotel, I hit the start button and I drove the car 2800 miles to Western Washington State, it was the best road trip ever.
I had an awesome time and I want to go back and do it all again if I ever could.
That hotel made the best cup of drip coffee I have ever had, I don't know what it was but it was perfect.
I still have not had PPF done and My car shines like it was sitting on Corvette Boulevard and I have 11,500 miles on it.
I keep my bra in the car if I ever want to use it.
get your car and run gas through it, it is made to run and run hard.
