You can buy a used one. Just getting someone to program it instead of lying saying they cant. In order to make you buy a new one. Some dealkers will cut new keyt and program it for you if its a good dealership.

I just bought a 2024 Arctic White stingray and it only came with one fob.
i bought a new eom fob on eBay for $125.
i took the car to a dealer, they rekeyed both fobs for $270.
OUCH.

Okay,,,,so far it sounds like the cheapest additional key will be about $400 no mattter what route you choose. You can get one on ebay and cut by them but then you have to add the cost of car programming which seems to be around $250+ for a dealer or locksmith to connect to GM and add it to the car system (for my 2024 MY since it cannot be done be me without the software / hardware too and licensed subscription). Seems way too steep at this time.
Until I see a Chinese hack duplicator that can clone a C8 key to another key assembly I guess I'll wait. I don't care what the clone would look like.
