Been kicking around the idea of buying a C8 and like how the new 26 interior looks. It seems to be a hot topic about a possible GS next year also. When does chevy announce changes to the next model year? Don't go crazy over the questions. This would be my first corvette. Thanks everyone.

No one knows when chevy will announce the GS if it really exists. Its just a bunch of guesses. The rumor is within the next 45 days. Of course there will be allot more of them. That is the only correct statement. If you are thinking about a GS, it will most likely be MY27 according to the rumors. The rumors have been going on for GS for years now BTW. So obtaining one would be around this time next year. What time frame you are looking at? Good luck in your search. What is your budget?

That's my problem I don't want to wait for something that never comes, but don't mind waiting another year if it is true. It just adds to the down payment as far as Im concerned. I like the looks of the wide body but also like the regular stingray. I live in Ohio and it's about to be hunting season so driving would be very limited so zero rush. I'd like to keep it under 100k out the door. There is a green 2lt at Joseph chevy but I'm not sure about the transparent roof. I'm bald so that might hurt the old nugget. Also if I'm spending that money I might want to order so I get exactly what I want. Any dealers in Ohio giving deals on orders or are they charging MSRP?

If I was going to spend $100k on a car I would make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Especially if it was my first Corvette. I would not settle for a different color, like the green, if that wasn't your first choice. You may grow to love it, but why settle?
What would be your dream C8 Stingray? (For this question forget the GS in case it doesn't happen).
What color?
What other options?

Rumors have been predicting a GS for years now, keep that in mind.
Yes welcome. I'm an impulse buyer with more money than time. Love the new interior so I pulled the trigger on a new '26, trading a '24 with 7k mi. If a GS comes out next year I'll evaluate if it's enough of an upgrade to make it worth it to me, In the mean time I'm happy NOW!

I lived in ohio many years..... transparent roof is not an issue...... you know Ohio is one of the cloudiest states right? Keep in mind you wait the prices will increase. Honestly at glance I don't see much difference in the C8 wide bodies, not like the C7. I was at the museum looking at the deliveries and chatting with the staff. They made the same comment. Said the appearance of the stingray vrs a wide body with all the angles has more to do with color then the extra few inches.
If you are near Columbus call Dave Gill ask for Matt Ringlin and tell him Greg sent you. Matt is a straight shooter and deals. I've bought 3 cars from him and came from SC for 2 of them.
Also Stanford in Detroit is great and look on their website for latest promotions. Spitizer is OK I bought from them once...... even go to Coughin but avoid the self appointed expert. I used Terry Goodin many years back..... I think he is still there. He enjoyed selling a covette out from under the expert.

Best of luck,

I do like the green as its my favorite color but didn't love it in person. I might like the Sebring orange better. Blue stitching and seat belts, Z51, magna ride, stealth package, and black exhaust tips. I wouldn't upgrade the wheels because I would take that money for an aftermarket set to fill up the wheel well better. Tons of options out there.

good luck no wrong choices.
Ya i live outside Dayton area so Columbus isn't far. Thanks for the tip I'll check them out.
I had seen one at the dealer and it looks like somehow they gave the cockpit area a little more room. It looks like that divider is further out maybe taking a little away from the passenger area. I didn't sit in it

I sat in both and felt like it was pretty comparable. The divider is maybe slightly lower on the 2026 and of course has no buttons. I grabbed one of the last 2025s they had, I kinda like the wall of buttons and the price was better. Got a Torch Red 2LT HTC. Love it - it's an amazing car.
You live in Ohio. If a GS ever were to exist, it wouldn't be as ideal for you as an ER...since the ER will happily tackle winter w/o issues.
I also think that the slow production rate on ER, ZR1 and ZR1X (and the near standstill on Z06) portends to GM not putting out a GS, as they are already struggling to put out widebodies as it is.

Heads up I just checked Dave Gill and they get next to no allocations. Be careful as you may think you're getting a car at 1100 and 6 months later you're still waiting. Now Lee Stanford is a larger volume dealer who is giving very high discounts (I wish I would have tried them). If you want to go local Coughlan should be your place. Rick Conti is fighting hard for orders and he is always near the top at the end of the year. He just spends so much time on youtube he doesn't always respond back. Good luck and enjoy the process.
