Default Engine bay plastic

I recently tried to rub some Adams VRT on the black plastic (very small test spot) and it did absolutely nothing in terms of making a difference. I did try it on the frunk plastic and it did darken it up and do what it is designed to do. I saw a post on here a couple weeks back, a guy had "polished" his engine bay plastic and it looked amazing. I cannot for the life of me find that post again (search is not that good). That being said, does anyone know the post/thread I'm refering to, or have any tips of making the engine bay plasic look better?

That looks amazing, and exactly the look I am going for. Is that just a hand polish or did you use a machine polisher?

It depends on the quality of the specific composite on your car. they are not all created equal. some like the above will polish out great, others not so much. Try the polish and see what happens.

I'll for sure be giving it a try over the next couple of weeks when I get some time.

I did use Meguiars Ultimate compound to buff out the worst spots, then decided to paint the whole thing.
It's a lot of work to remove the truck lid for painting, and a lot of masking, but I like the end result.
You can buy carbon fiber panels to cover the whole rear, looks pretty cool, but big $

I used Adam's Interior Detailer on the underside of both frunk/engine cover and surrounding plastics. Applied it right after picking up the car about 18 months ago and haven't reapplied it since. It got rid of the chalky look and doesn't appear to attract dirt/grime.
Hope this helps.

I haven't tried that. The graphene VRT definitely helped the frink and underside of the engine cover, but nothing for the surrounding "plastic" of the engine. I am going to use Meguirs as suggested and then put some VRT over it in hopes it keeps it clean and shiny.
