I am planning my C8 purchase. I’ll be driving from BG to Charlotte area so want to avoid winter weather. And I can’t do it this year. So I’ll be sending in my $3000 deposit and Configuration in December for Mid March delivery. MacMulkin’s “terms” say the balance of the car must be paid before the car is built. I have asked my salesman what that means just now. For those that have done this, is it typically “built” about 3 weeks before delivery? How long after I wire the money will it be ready for delivery? I see these status codes like 3400? Just wondering about the timing. I guess that gives me time to register the car so I can take my license plate and registration with me to BG.

I believe they required the deposit to place the order. Which means they would probably put your order in during January. Deposit at that time 3000 status. Giving a March delivery. Contact them to confirm.
He says the balance needs to be paid before the car is built, not a deposit. I have heard the balance needs to be paid before accepting the car, not when the car is built.

I just bought mine from MacMulkin with a courtesy delivery to CA. Paid the 3K deposit, car showed up to the dealer a few months later, I had to pay MM before they would tell the courtesy dealer the car could be released to me. Once the payment cleared with MM, they called the local dealer, took me all of 15 min at the local dealer to pay the CA taxes and registration and I drove off, happily. It was the easiest car deal I have ever done.

MM required payment last December after my ER was built and after GM invoiced MM for the car which typically is just a day or two after build and off the assembly line. That policy would typically apply to both courtesy and NCM deliveries and not at the MM dealership in Nashua.
I also live in NC (Raleigh area) and ordered with MacMulkin. I only placed the initial deposit of $5,000 and then paid the remaining balance once the car was produced. Here is my timeline and again I didn’t have provide the loan approval until the car was built. They send me the required documents and I had plenty of time to go to the DMT to get my plate and pay the TAXES 😂😂😂Sep 17 Order accepted by Chevrolet (2000)
Oct 29 Order accepted by production control (3000)
The people at MacMulkin sell thousands of cars out of state. Just get with one of their people and simply have them walk you through the process.
yes , im in houston. my local dealer was charging $25k over for z06 and eray macmulkin offered my 10% off a stingray plus few other incentives. super easy spec'd the car out sent the deposits waited 3 months went to museum to pick up the car. it was $1k to deliver car to my local dealer or like $1500 for museum pick up. so of course, and i highly recommend the museum pick up def cool.
I've built and purchased two C8's through MacMulkin. A $3,000 deposit sent when order was placed. The remainder was due once car was at the dealership. A week later (after PDI) I picked up.
FYI, the car must be registered before they will release it (at least in my case).
I placed an order with MM, contract states that the balance is due when they deliver the car....read your contract and do not go by what someone tells you on the phone or WEB for that matter
MM wants payment by 7 days after the car is invoiced. This is an allocation game by them as the system awards allocations by how fast the car moves off the lot. So to GM's system, that car sold within 7 days. This helps MM get more Corvette allocations.
That is why I am suggesting that anyone who has an order with MM should read their contract, things change. if you don’t have a contract then you have done something very wrong or don’t have an order.
McMulkin gets the credited sale upon receiving a $3k deposit. Your order is placed, and it's a 3 month wait on average if nothing is on back order ie.... Q91 wheels etc.
They must sell more to out of state buyers then in their home state I would imagine just from reading on this forum how many have purchased from them around the country.
Their communication is excellent, and you can check on the status through a GM site as to what stage your build is at.
Choose from pick up at McMulkin, courtesy delivery to a nearby dealer, or NCM delivery.
They get more than the lion's share of allotments.

In after thought I can see where they would want the Z06 paid for with in 7 days.
They cost twice as much as the base C8. I imagine they got stuck with a few cancellations in the past.

Did you go 90 to, 84 all the way to 81 then down 77? When I was doing that run I would avoid 95 and any ware near NYC at all cost, even if it meant extra miles. Plus 81 is an easy drive.
i bought from MacMulkin and its a simple process. Send a deposit--they do the paperwork and they order it. Once produced, they send you the final paperwork--just like any dealer and begin the delivery process. You can get your own finance, finance thru them or pay cash.. Its simple and problem free. I live in CA and it was an easy experience. I also did the museum delivery which they did the paperwork on.
