Default Window Indexing

When you index the windows after a battery change is it necessary to index both? If you index the drivers side does it take care of both windows,?

You should index both sides. There is also an index procedure for the HTC rear window but I've never need to do it after reconnecting the battery.

If you disconnect the battery you'll get a message on your dash to do it.

I just did this after battery disconnect to install brakes. I did not have to do the rear window either, but both the fronts. ALSO, I was trying and trying with the top DOWN with no lluck. Put the top UP and walla, worked first try.

Default rear window "normalization"

Here is a procedure someone posted for "normalizing" the rear window. I have not tried it and do not know if it works.

Yeah...its in the Owner's Manual, but its sort of "elusive". Its in a section called Programming the Power Windows.
Programming the Power Windows
Programming may be necessary if the vehicle
battery is disconnected or discharged. To
program an express-close window:
1. Close all doors.
2. Turn the vehicle on.
3. Partially open the window you want to
program, then close it and continue to pull
the switch briefly after the window has
fully closed.
4. Open the window and continue to press
the switch briefly after the window has
fully opened."
