I purchased a soler performance throttle controller for my C8 Stingray and after reviewing the instructions I noticed that they wanted me to stick the display directly to the car (dash/center console/etc). Well I really didn't like that idea because then I can't easily remove the controller if I ever wanted to (dealer service, security, or whatever). So I designed a little slide in mount/holder for it. I carefully peeled off the double sided tape from the back of the controller and re-used it for my mount. It was still plenty sticky enough as I have not yet installed this in my C8. I made the mount snug enough to hold the controller firmly. Now I can remove the display unit from the car anytime I want. I printed it in ABS so it will withstand interior car temps. I love 3D printing !!!
My controller stays in the glove box just in case I ever want to use it. The phone app does everything the controller does and more, and leaves no trace that the unit is installed.
I put my controller in the void between the top of the steering column and the bottom of the dash in the flexible filler. Just routed the cable under the dash and through the gap between the side of the column and the dash.

Not sure why the controller is needed anyway after initial installation. Are you really changing the parms that much all the time that it needs to be at hands reach? Isn't it much easier to just use the app? If you are using as protection against theft. I dont think I would want to broadcast that I have it installed. I would not even route and mount the display after install as its just in the way. Tuck the wires in the carpet and forget about it. JMO
Got my controller installed this afternoon. I followed the same approach as shown in the Rick Conti YouTube video for routing the cable along the drivers side. I think the install came out great, nice and clean. I am happy that the display unit is in a holder versus directly attached to the center compartment wall.
I didn't like the idea of adhesive on the interior, so I ran my cable under the floor mat, then tucked the controller into the center console. It's out of the way, but easily accessible if I need it. I've only had it a few weeks, but it's worked out well so far.
That holder is an excellent idea. I have my display sitting in my center console with a bunch of other junk and every once in awhile my car will act wild and I already know its because something changed the setting. LOL I would be interested in buying a mount from you, if you ever decide to make more sir.
On these throttle controllers, I know it doesnt change the power or the feel, but does it increase the speed 0-16 from the point the person pushes the throttle down? Still trying to understand the use case, if it doesnt change anything other than shorten the throw. It seems like if its more responsive, a car with the controller would be slightly faster

It depends. If you mash the pedal to the floor, it doesn't really do anything. Full throttle is full throttle, and the Soler can't increase that. But at partial throttle, it might make a small difference because in essence it's telling the car you're pushing the pedal down further than you actually are, so the throttle opens a bit more. It also reduces the lag most of us feel when we push the pedal down from a stop sign, because it's getting through the laggy part of pedal motion quicker. But I think any measurable difference is going to be small. It DOES change the feel, though, and makes the car more fun, though.

Can't say for certain, but I smoked a Porsche Carrera S yesterday from a stoplight and having the Pedal Commander throttle controller seemed to have an impact on off-the-line acceleration. We were even for about 3 seconds then I pulled a good two car lengths ahead.

I know on motorcycles you can get shorter throw throttles to take the play out of the throttle and make it feel more responsive, but it sort of takes the bandwidth of adjustment away also. So it shortens the throw making it more responsive but less adjustment between throttle points, if that makes sense. I was wondering if its a lot like that.
also, doesnt changing the modes in the vette do that? with this controller, can I still have a more easy going tour mode and a more sporty track mode without having to change the settings on the controller too?
When I first installed the Soler throttle controller, I spent some time trying various settings so I mounted the controller on the lower right corner of the display panel. I eventually settled on SP3 because I found more aggressive settings caused the transmission to upshift too often in traffic. At this point, I'm probably going to remove the controller and just use the phone app to lock the accelerator.

Yes, it's sort of like that. But the Soler is almost infinitely adjustable, so you tune the "throw" to suit your tastes. The stock throttle mapping has VERY slow tip-in, so you can remove a fair bit of "bandwidth" without affecting drivability.

That’s really neat, great job! 👏 We love seeing creative solutions like that — it’s awesome that you were able to design something custom and functional for your setup. Nice work!
