This happens in all cars I've ever owned. Is it because of the weather in upstate NY or does leather just do this in general? It's starting to look scaly and not smooth. I tried leather conditioner on the seat and it didn't do anything. My car is 4 years old. I've never touched this area so it can't be dirt that is causing it. The entire inside of the car is like this now.
1LT and 2LT interior wraps aren't leather, they are a TPO material. It could be justa an artifact of aging. You could try a plastic conditioner specifically made for TPO but I'd be careful.
Even the 3LT isn't what most would consider real leather, they are a bonded leather with a polyurethane coating.

Just a quick story of leather from a pro, long-time, career upholsterer, one who did much custom work for noted companies. He had three Lambos and when it came time to reuph his Contach he opted for vinyl, which shocked me. He said good quality vinyl will look better longer with minimal upkeep than leather. I had him do all my work (3 cars) in fabric/cloth!
