I just a set of paragon wickers. Sorta confused and hoping others may assist. Instructions say use number 20 or 4mm /.16 drill bit. …anyone American around here can tell me what that is? Will a 3/16th work? Last thing I wanna do is drill something bigger than I need.
1/8 is very nearly 4 mm .......3/16 might be too big and not allow the screws to tighten up or are they pop riveted. My factory wickers on my 25 e are held on by phillips screws.
A 3/16" drill bit will make a 0.188-inch hole, which will likely be too big. A 5/32 drill bit will make a 0.156 hole, if you move it around a little you can make it 0.16.
You can buy 4mm drill bits from Amazon. Many good hardware or even big box stores (Home Depot) should have 4mm drill bits. I would buy a 4mm drill bit to do it right.

Hmm, this is NOT rocket science. 4 mm is 0.157 inches.
A 5/32 inch drill is 0.156 and will work fine.
A 3/16 inch drill is 0.187, too big

Funny I have been on our Tech Society Metric Practices Committee since the early 1970s (Metric is now referred to with the international name SI for Industrial Standard that is accepted world wide.) I still Chair that Committee. We are the ONLY Industrial Nation (actually about any country) still not using SI units for everything. BUT Cars have use SI (Metric) for many years. All wrenches needed for your Corvette are millimeters NOT inches. Don't have to deal with fractions when measuring with a ruler (heck unfortunately a number of young folks can't deal with adding fractions or can't read a ruler.)
Heck today don't have to be a math whizz! Just put 4 mm in Google and ask for the digital value in inches. Then if division it too much effort get a chart of drill size in fractions and decimal value!
Thanks for the constructive inputs...less the last douche's comments about "NOT rocket science", no **** sherlock...My point was to ask if anyone else had encountered this with Paragon being that every video out there installing there wickers are talking about 3/16 drill bit.
Anyways...to the others, I appreciate your insights and courteous responses and I'll just grab a cheap one at Harbor Freight.
