Default Remove Small Nick

What is the best way to remove a very small nick on the trunk of my Red Mist Metallic 2022 C8.(See Attachment)

Can I just try and compound it out and if that is possible what is the best compound to use?

I see 3 dark spots in the photo you attached. Is that what you call a "nick". Why are they discolored, did some chemical get on the paint?

I just noticed it yesterday when I washed it, I assume its a nick. This car is garage kept and is only driven to the casino where it is parked by the valet I don't see how any kind of chemical could get on it

That doesn't look like a nick to me it is something on the surface. Try some fine clay then a very light polish to start.

Try a cleaner wax to start and then move to more aggressive cleaners like clay bar.

I agree with others the picture does not look like a nick. If it is a chip/nick you could use drcolorchip to repair it.

It looks more like a stain, possible from acidic bird poo.

Run your finger over it ....you can feel a scratch but it looks like a stain . Find out what it is before addressing it even then always remember what mom taught us ......water and mild soap first

Might be a good idea to get some pro help. It’d be easy to make it worse.

Looks like a stain on top of the clearcoat. Try Isopropyl alcohol using a microfiber cloth, then mineral spirits if that doesnt work.
