My offer letter from this week said they have someone interested in buying my car and they would make me an aggressive offer. It also said I did not have to buy anything from them to make the deal.
I had just been to their dealership the previous weekend looking at E-Rays and an older couple was standing next to my car talking to the salesman about it. I jokingly told them it might be for sale in the near future if I could find the right car to buy. The salesman did not know my name and I never gave it to anyone while I was there, so I think it was just a coincidence.
They did not have any 2025 E-Rays I would buy, so I never contacted them about their “aggressive offer”, which as others have stated, was probably bogus.
I sold my modded C7 to a dealer a few years ago, my mods were just bolt on parts and they made an offer I couldn't refuse, they actually sold it to guy locally and I didn't some additional tuning for him and then we both ended up buying C8s. It was in the late stages of Covid, so people were looking for nice C7s.
I should add this doesn't mean there isn't a deal to be made.
If you are interested in an ERay end of year sales and end of month sales are a real thing. Best chance to get best price is trade + finance through them(you can refinance down the road if you really want to be with your preferred lender).
Don't worry about the discount or trade value. If your car isn't paid off get your payoff and calculate an Out The Door or Amounted owed if you don't know their fee's but you should have that from the SR purchase. Offer them that number and let them figure out if they want to apply discount or a higher trade number.
Example the Eray is 120k MSRP you want 12% discount so 105,600, you think your trade is worth (KBB Instant Cash is a good start, Carvana will be soft on sports cars) 75k and you owe 65k so 10k in equity. Offer them $95,600 or even a bit lower so there is some room to meet. Do it a 7-10 days before months end and see what they say. If they say no or a number you don't like reach out a couple more times before months end. They will probably want the unit sale.
Don't just roll up and let them put some numbers together. I always start with my offer and work from there. Having all of this ready also shows them you are a serious buyer and know the market.

"With the recent increased demands for pre-owned vehicles similar to your 3500 4wd, market value has also continued to rise. As a result of recent changes in the market, we are contacting you to discuss the possibility of acquiring your 3500 4wd for our pre-owned inventory. As compensation to you, we can offer you our highest possible trade value.
According to the most recent vehicle appraisal guides, market value for your 2023 RAM 3500 4wd, Dsl Limited Crew Cab 6'4" Box is at an all-time high. Based on the mileage and condition of your 3500 4wd, along with the increased customer demand your vehicle could potentially be worth much more.
Act now as this may be your best opportunity to upgrade to a new vehicle."
yep, just substitute 1500 and I get them about every 3 months from the dealer I bought from.

Haven't seen one of those letters for a long time, but they have been around for a while. Don't expect an amazing deal - they are not going to lose money.

I get the same from the Jaguar dealer. They want to offer $15K below retail trade in but don't want to mark down the replacement plus add over $2K worth of BS dealer fees.
Got a letter from the general sales manager at the local Chevy dealer asking if I’d be interested in an “aggressive” buy back offer for my “high demand” 2021 SR Z51 HTC 2LT with blah blah blah options. I called and asked if this was a GM program and was told it’s specifically this dealer. I find it odd considering the additional discount just announced for MY25 C8s, which they have in the show room. Not sure why they would be interested in a MY21.
They have an ERay I wouldn’t mind taking a look at so I might just see what they offer…
Has anyone else received similar marketing?
I got the same offer from my local dealership. Didnt call them cause I have no interest in selling.
