I have a Chamberlain myQ garage door opener....I have had absolutely no luck programming it with my 2026 C8, I even did a complete factory reset to the opener....still no luck....
Any thoughts?
Call Chevy customer service or Chamberlain, they will walk you thru it. Sometimes there are little details that the manual overlooked. This has always worked for me.
First make sure the Home buttons in the car are factory reset by pressing the home button 1 and 3 simultaneously until the lights blink fast.
Then take your current garage door opener and hold it close to the Home buttons.
Press both the opener button and the home button you want to program (I use the one on the very left). keep pressing both until the home light blinks fast.
That will teach the home button your opener frequencies. You are done with the actual garage opener for the next step.
then run to the garage opener and press the learn button. It should start blinking. The learn button is typically under the light cover of the opener itself.
Go back to the car and keep pressing and releasing the home button you programmed until it syncs with the opener and either opens it or closes it.
That's it! your home button should be programmed.
Of course, all these steps will have to done with the car near the garage, just outside.
Probably can't do it with the car in the garage because you won't reach the learn button on the opener.
Worked almost immediately on my 2024 with holding the opener about 3" away from the visor. I also have a myQ, side-opener.
Clear the HomeLink memory. Holding the two outside buttons till they blink rapidly. Release. Clean slate. Hold down the HomeLink visor button you want to program. It will blink. With the handheld clicker near the visor hold the clicker button you want to clone and the HomeLink button you want to program. Until the garage door operates. No need to run to the learn button. This has worked for our C7 and C8, a RAV4, and Mazda CX5. Both the garage and the community entry gate. I was probably 15' from the gate actuator and still worked perfectly. 8 year old Liftmaster myQ.

I never get the fast blinking light after the reset...
For your first time training HomeLink, it may be helpful to clear your HomeLink. To do this, press and hold the outer two HomeLink buttons for 10 seconds. DO NOT release until the indicator light changes from solid to flashing rapidly. Skip this step when training additional buttons.
Holding your garage door remote 1-3 inches (3-7 cm) away from your HomeLink buttons, simultaneously press and hold the HomeLink button you would like to train and the button on your handheld garage door remote. DO NOT RELEASE until the HomeLink indicator light changes from flashing slowly to either solid or flashing rapidly.
Press and release the trained HomeLink button. If you have a fixed code device, your HomeLink indicator light will be solid, and pressing the trained HomeLink button should now activate your garage door.
If your garage door is not functioning, and the indicator light is flashing rapidly, you likely have a rolling code device, and have a few more steps to complete, which we will get to in the next section (“Rolling Code Training”).

If you hold the 2 outer buttons down at the same time for several seconds, the Homelink should factory reset by blinking fast.
If it's not resetting, you may have to take it to the dealership to have the homelink looked at.
Be patient and keep holding those two buttons and see if it eventually does reset. Should not take more than 30 seconds to do so.
I had difficulty programming a C6 a few years ago. I contacted the maker of the Homelink (or Lear, I don't remember which) and they said to leave your cell phone and your smart watch (if you have one) in the house when you attempt to program. When I did that It programmed immediately. I did that again when my C8 arrived and I had no difficulty. Give it a try.
There are limits to the number of vehicles/remotes that can be programmed per Genie opener. If you've had this opener for a while you may have reached that limit. There is a procedure to clear the memory. Google it. After clearing the memory the opener needs to be reprogrammed for all vehicles/remotes.

That is true. However, openers will program a new remote and remove another that was first in line. It won't stop programming, it just deletes another one from the list if the limit is reached.

I get the first cycle of quick blinking lights, so it is resetting, it is the second round of quick blinking lights that I don't get.
I did a complete reset/clearing of the memory of the Chamberlain Garage door opener, so I started with a clean slate.
i have held the two buttons during the second part of the procedure for at least a minute or longer to no avail.

Do you mean the part of holding the remote right next to the homelink and pressing the 2 buttons, 1 on each at the same time step?
Once the homelink learns the remote, it should blink either fast or slow the book says, mine does fast. That tells you the homelink has learned the remote frequency.
Then you can go to the next step of hitting the learn button on the opener and pressing the homelink button you programmed. It takes several presses and let go on the home link button to make the door opener move for the first time.
Also, if you cleared the opener memory to start a clean slate, you have to program the remote to the opener before you teach the homelink to the remote. Hope that makes sense.
Another thing to try if you still have trouble - put fresh batteries into your garage door remote. I appreciate that it works with the opener itself, but that's because the opener has a good receiver. The car does not which is why they want it physically close during programming.

yes, it appears to learn the frequency, it's the second pass that never works, and yes, I reprogrammed each remote after clearing the memory....everything works except the vette...I have done this on other vehicles without issue....
