Well, it looked really straightforward on the videos I watched but I cannot for the life of me get the connector off the back of the gas pedal. I unbolted the gas pedal which helps to visualize the connector but the damn thing will not budge. I'm not the most mechanical guy in the world but this should be simple enough! Any tips would be appreciated.
practice by using the Soler sockets, click on and then off so you can see how it will come off the pedal. Pull red tab up, depress the black tab to release. DO NOT force it, if it not releasing you are not depressing the tab to release. I just did my install a few days ago.

I ran into the same thing on mine. The connector is tight from the factory. Make sure you press the release tab fully — you almost have to push it in before pulling the plug out. Wiggling it a bit side-to-side helps too.
Unbolting the pedal was the right move, it gives you just enough room. Once the tab clicks, it comes off pretty easily.
Good to know. Appreciate your comment. I’ll give it a shot.
Misery loves company. I had a heck of a time with mine. About to give up after numerous contorted attempts to disengage the connector even after unbolting the gas pedal assembly. Gave it one more shot and it came out with hardly any effort. Maybe the previous attempt unlocked it. Very frustrating but able to accomplish eventually.

These guys make great videos that are really useful. This one was very helpful and Solar should use it for their installation tutorials. I think I'm going to have to try one of these after watching the video. I've done lots of mods on the Gen 6 Camaro's, C7s and all these connectors can be a nightmare. Some of the connectors are even harder than these, some are hard to reach in the engine bays, but they have to insure they can't become disconnected accidentally, it makes it hard on the novice or even experienced to get them broken loose sometimes.

It can definitely be a little stubborn on some cars so you’re not alone. I’m sure you’ve probably seen most of the install videos out there and Rick Conti has a great one with Chuck, but here is our own C8 install video for reference:
There are some really helpful tips mentioned in the thread, and I’ll restate the one we recommend the most. Make sure to pull the red tab, then press down on the black tab while gently working the connector off. Some pedals are just tighter than others.

Finally got it done this morning. Or to be more accurate, my smaller stature wife got it done, I had a hard time getting both my hands in there, but she managed to get a good two-handed grip on it and release the tab. Never underestimate a determined woman The rest, of course, was easy.
Just got back from a road test. Holy crap . . . what a difference it makes to an already very capable car.
