This may be unique to me but I thought I would share my experience just incase it can help someone else. I recently got a notification that there was an update ready for installation on my 2024 Stingray, I parked in my garage started the install got the countdown got out of the vette and went inside. I came out later to check and found that the install didn’t work. I started the install again got out of the car and watched through the window as countdown progressed but when it reached 0 the install stopped. I tried several different times with the car in the garage outside the garage in a store parking lot no good. Finally, after about 6 attempts it occurred to me that I had the auto lock feature turned on and the car would lock itself before the install started, out of frustration I turned off auto lock and the install worked with no issues!
i don’t know if auto lock and the failed install are related but if your having trouble with an install give it a try.

Its a new one. Did the car actually auto lock after you initiate the install and went inside?

I have no idea about whether the auto lock, or the locking action itself could have interrupted the download.
But I did want to comment on something else you mentioned... you mentioned that you tried it in the garage and in a parking lot. But if the car was allowing you to initiate the installation, it means the update was already downloaded. It does not require connectivity for the update. So it should not matter where it is.
My 2021 has a couple of option in the menu for downloading updates.. I can enable or disable "download updates in the background". If I disable it, it will notify me that a update is ready for download. If I enable it, it automatically downloads updates and then notifies me that they are ready for install. The other option is to allow WiFi download when possible. If I disable that, then it will only download via the 4G connection built in to the car. If I enable it, it will use Wifi when it can, but if not, it will still use the 4G connection. I do not know if later models still have those options.
Today I got "Update Ready to Install" when I started my car today. It began installing, but said "Updated Failed". I don't know if door locks had anything to do with it - I left the door open, since I was in my own garage. When I got home later, I connected to wifi and tried to check for updates manually. It says no updates are available. The last update shown is from last May.

I had the same issue "update failed" and then went away. I took it to the dealer and they said it was updated but it still showed the previous update. I call OnStar and the tech said it was update but it didn't show a date when it updated. He thought it was strange but he said it was done.

Thank you! I'm at 7100 miles now, so I was going to ask the dealer about it when I bring it for my DCT filter soon.
