I have a 2026 Z06/Z07 with front lift. I would like to use the lift to aid in loading the car on a trailer as well as putting the car on my 2 post lift.
I've read the manual multiple times and I'm not sure I still understand. I'm out of town and can't go sit in the car to experiment.
Can I use the front lift to raise the front of the car and keep it raised while I am out of the car?
Related question - If I use a winch (with remote) with my trailer, how do I keep the car in neutral and the front in the up position?
It only stays raised a short time then goes back to regular height. I had on my Stingray and also on my ERay as I need it in the part of Texas I live in.
The car will lower it self once shut off. and to get the car in N you need a wrench / tool to get to the rod to hold it in place while pushing it and have to remove truck panel to reach.
I really wish there as a few more things to the front lift. like a hold feature, and a, override function when it trips out.
Perhaps you could use the location you want the car to raise and program the raising for this location. Drive up onto the trailer, etc.
Just a thought!
I need the lift to get started on my trailer ramps. Once I get on the ramps a few inches, I'm good the rest of the way. My trailer is 82" between fender wells. It fits, but it's tight. I hope to be doing some autocrosses this year. If my wife guides me, I can just drive on. If I'm there alone, I'm not sure I trust myself to not scrape a canard or a wheel. I was hoping to be able to leave the window down, hook up a winch, and hand steer the wheel to get exact placement.
So, keep it running, raise front lift (it'll stay up for x amount of time) put it in neutral and load the car? Find out that time and then load it up before then.
If you open the door, it will put the E brake on........ so, you have you some how put in park, open door and get out, then get it back to N with it running and door shut. and as you know you can't shift from P to N without going to D first with foot on the brake........
The lift ihav enot had auto lower with car still running. There may be a time but i have not had that happen. But does lower when you turn off car. you can delay lowering when you turn it off by having the door open... it will warn you its going to lower, watch door bla bla bla and then it will lower after a 30-45 second delay
The manual N rod on the trans is key for people tracking the car and stuff.
I had to put my wife in the car, start it, put it in neutral, then raise the front. I hooked to the front winched it up on the trailer the parked, lowered, put in park and shut down. The front won’t drop unless you get over a certain mph (27?), push the lower button, or open the door. You have to have a second person. At least that’s how I did it with out the manual neutral tool.
I played with the N process in the link above and posted below with some edits. and it does work.
Driver Remains in Vehicle : To place the vehicle in N (Neutral) with the engine off and the vehicle occupied: 1. Ensure the vehicle is on level ground, the engine is running and the vehicle is in P (Park). 2. Apply the brake pedal. 3. Shift to D or R, AND THEN N (Neutral). 4. Turn off the engine and release the brake pedal. 5. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, start the engine and repeat Steps 2–4. 6. The vehicle will now remain in N (Neutral).

Turn off the engine and release the brake pedal. 6. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, start the engine and repeat Steps 2–5. 7. Exit the vehicle and close the door. 8. The vehicle may automatically shift to P (Park) upon re-entry.

ref neutral: with the car running, foot on the brake, put it in neutral, open the door, shut it off and get out. It will stay in neutral. Procedure is in the manual and I've done it. Tool is only needed if the engine won't start.

Yes i litterally post the procedure in this thread how to do it with motor running. BUT if not thats when a tool is needed.
I must have a glitch in mine, as it stays in the raised position after shutting off the car. FWIW, I do have it saved as a gps lift location, but not sure if that means anything.

It lowers slowly once the door is opened. Come back after an hour and it will be fully lowered and raise again once you start the car.
Mine also drifts down slowly when the car is turned off. But there are, or may be, a couple of conditions that will cause it to raise right away when started.
1. In my case, its in memory, so mine raises right away if I get in and start it - because its alway shut off in the raised position.
2. I tried remote start with fob. it will not raise until I get in and press the ignition with foot on the brake.
3. If I manually lower it, shut it off and get in and start it, it remembers the last manual action - it will not raise even if in memory.
4. If not in memory, but shut off in the raised mode, it remembers that when started and raises up again.
Common to all is when shut off in the raised position I get a message on the DIC telling me that its lowering, and it lowers.
