When I bought my C8, the dealer told me that it would support an SD Card up to 2 TB. I bought a 1 TB card, but it isn't recognized. I stuck in a 128 GB card and it works just fine.
What's the largest SD Card that people have found works with no issues?

I use a 1TB ScanDisk Extreme PRO and it works flawlessly. I have a 2024 Z06, if that matters (I don't think it does, though).
I've used the front camera recording (with a 256 GB card), it works pretty well. The catch is that you have to enable it each time, whereas a typical dash cam installation starts recording s soon as you first up the car.
I'll probably put in a two channel system like I installed on my previous car, they aren't very obtrusive. This is a daily/only driver for me, so worth the peace of mind, and probably worth having a rear recording too.
Also, there are ones with battery parking mode so you don't need to wire directly to the car battery to support parked surveillance, and fully wireless ones that you'd need to recharge regularly.
PS--I just took a quick look, pretty easy installation, especially for the front. Virtually the same installation for front and rear cameras as I did on my Acura, except that the power outlet (lighter socket) is in a better place, hidden. The rear camera isn't going to have a great view on the C8, though, but maybe good enough to be worth doing. But doing the front alone would be a pretty quick installation.

You can have the PDR camera set to "always" record in the options.
Before I took possession of my 2026, I chatted with GM customer support, and I asked them about always record, and they told me that wasn't possible, then I saw a post here and found out that always record is an option that you can find in the PDR under options.
I also found out that my 1 TB SD card works fine, it was the micro adapter that was bad.
Thanks to everyone for the input.
Per the 2025 owner's manual page 133 CLASS 10 is all that is required, which is equivalent to U1.
https://www.sdcard.org/developers/sd...w/speed-class/
U3 is a speed rating of at least 30 megabytes per second, about three times faster that what is required. There are also about six faster ratings that would work equally well.
I've been using the built-in cam. It works (one time I started the car and it complained about no memory card, I opened the glovebox and tapped the card a couple of time, it's worked since). But it's not great for accident capture. Inexpensive dash cams have higher resolution, wide angle, automatically lock the recently captured videos (dash cams typically record a new timestamped clips every minute, or however you configure, deleting oldest clips as space is needed). They often have another camera facing the interior, which could be of help, and of course and rear camera and input for the main cam. You'll give up a little space near your rearview mirror/monitor, but you can always what's being recorded.
Just adding my opinion after living with it for a few days. The internal recording is convenient and certain adds something, for only the cost of a memory card, but if you really want some assurance for accidents for a daily driver, adding a dash cam is significantly better. As I've mentioned, the location of the cigarette lighter outlet is a nice plus for adding a dash cam.
