DCT "Declutch" Observation
I found Z-Mode that shifts about the way I was a. D is smart enough to shift all by itself at WOT just before. Rev Limiter come on.

So, it will keep letting you bounce off the rev limiter maybe for a period if time then force an up shift?
I use this a LOT during normal driving, mostly to short shift up to the next gear. I drive around in competitive driving mode a lot, and I like to accelerate semi-aggressively ... but I don't want to reach 5k+ RPMs all the time; so I pull the right paddle to up shift earlier than sport mode wants to given my accelerator pedal position. A few seconds later, and the TCM is controlling it again. This is a really nice feature!!
In other cars I've driven with paddles, when you hit one of them, it not only shifts up/down as requested, but also engages manual mode. So to get back to auto mode, you have to take some action (like hold down a paddle for 5 seconds, etc ...). Because of that, I don't use the paddles in the other vehicles as much.
Z-Mode does the same, seldom gets to 6th, never 7th or 8th. Heck 5th is 0.66:1 OD. 8th is a crazy 0.33:1 OD. It's there for GM to squeeze out a few more tens mpg in EPA test.

I was going back and forth between the two for a while, mainly because I was trying to find a setup which would allow some fun (ie: wheel spin and moderate sliding), still retain a softer suspension, and some mild ESC protection. I tried Z mode set with Tour suspension and Sport transmission as an attempt at this, but the ESC would interfere more than I wanted, and Launch wasn't available on demand due to PTM switching itself off when suspension is on anything other than Track.
Then I learned about competitive driving mode. It uses sport suspension setting, sport trans/engine power setting, and the ESC is significantly reduced with launch available on demand. So while the suspension is a little firmer than I'd like, I can command wheel spin on demand and the ESC doesn't interfere if the vehicle gets a little sideways.
Last night, I ran out to pick up some takeout .. and man, every time I drive this thing, it puts a huge smile on my face! This has to be the most enjoyable can to drive I've ever owned
Pedal pressure for sure plays into clutch pressure. Using the Track tack with numerical values you can see even 10 rpm drops. when testing.
I have not tried the TIME out of holding a Paddle in Drive. I am almost always in Manual mode, and holding a paddle will not time out at a red light.
Dual paddle declutch and then can hold either side to keep car de clutched. Also you can Hit N while car is de clutched. or hit N while in gear no clutching needed to coast for a long ways.
Before I got a new DCT (new DCT because of parking paw was approved by GM but I still had the car until part arrived). I tested a a lot of wierd things since it was not going to mattter.
For those curious. Dual clutch dumps we all know work. BUT what happens if you have some RPMS and do a single paddle dump? well, its slips the clutch like trying to launch a 6 speed car on a sticky tire and not dumping it... ha sounds hard on clutches...
When I play with the car Its normally short burst, or a curvy road but not holding high rpms. I have never had the aggressive driving light happen. Need to try and make that happen ha. and I am not scared to play with it. Surprised I have never had it happen to be honest.
According to your 2022 manual,
"If equipped, this light may display green
when Sport Mode is activated and certain
driving conditions are met. Sport Mode
detects when the vehicle is being driven
in a competitive manner, and adjusts the shifting
of the gears accordingly."
In later manuals, it is called Performance Transmission Active light and there are more conditions described that will cause it to illuminate. Its not specific to Sport Mode, and says "The vehicle is being driven in a spirited manner and transmission shift points have been altered to enhance the vehicle behavior." And it also is specifically described in the Driver Influenced Gear Selection section - which is "effective in all modes". I don't know if the behavior actually changed, or if it is just described differently.

I drive the car in manual mode 99% of the time and especially when playing in the car on curvy roads, and stuff. the only auto time is stuck in traffic trying to creep around quitly with a coffee in the morning
or a 0-60 launch or something. I let it bang the gears in strait line.
so maybe thats why I have never seen the light.
