This is slightly off topic but very important...if you find a used C8 and you feel somewhat comfortable with the seller and don't want to travel accross the country to look at it, how would you go about paying for the car and feel like you aren't hung out to dry waiting for it to be picked up....I know most wouldn't do that but on the other hand I would guess many have....sellers aren't going to release the car unless paid for. I know there are third party services that work with a fee for handling the transaction...any other options?...thanks...I've done this maybe about 10 yrs ago with a streetrod but in todays world that might not work for me anymore...thanks for any comments..I'm hoping for some constructive comments...
You could have the seller take a picture with his driver's license to help insure validity. Yes, the world is different now. I've bought things but not as expensive as a car.
I purchased my 1st Corvette from 1,500 miles away.
It was a cash deal.
I had him go to his bank with title and car.
My banker called his banker. They passed banker transfer id’s.
His banker verified title, vin, seller id and signed title.
My banker transferred funds.
His banker verified funds transfer.
His banker mailed me title.
Seller met with my shipper to give car over.
So you are willing to send someone (assuming) $50k+, and you can’t spend a day/plane ticket to actually see the vehicle and complete the transaction in person? You are a very trusting person sir!
