My previous C7 2019 Vette and my current C8 both have an annoying reflection of the dashboard that obscures good view through the windshield. My C8 has the red/black interior so the reflection is more pronounced..... especially the red color. The angle of the windshield and my height as I sit in the driver seat make the dash show up. Anyone have a simple solution... I have seen dash covers advertised, but most appear to be unsightly covers. The existing dash is not shiny but is in the correct location for the angle of the windshield to spotlight it.
This was why I went with a black interior. All dash boards reflect, some worse than others . And you are right. the angle of the windshield can make it worse. Sorry I don't have a good answer for you.
Name brand polarized sunglasses i.e. Rayban, prescription et al or Oakley's proprietary lens called PRIZM will reduce dash glare to virtually zero. Been there done that as recently as yesterday during our weekly Sunday attitude adjustment ride. With our much maligned Natural Dipped Tan interior. But if you're averse to the price, a pair of cheapie polarized lens sunglasses from amazon $10 +/- will do the same. Just not as stylish. Nor snobbish.
Bonus: They assist with general eye health reducing strain etc. You only get two best to take care of them.

I don't buy expensive sunglasses anymore. I got tired of losing and breaking them (although I do have a pair of Serengetis left that somehow managed to escape the fate of the others). I purchased a cheap pair of polarized sunglasses off Amazon that are my dedicated C8 sunglasses. I toss them in the recess behind the infotainment screen when I'm not using them. If I lose or break them or they get too scratched up I buy another pair.

I used to only buy Costas($150/pr), but the rubber kept coming off. So, I switched to cheapies, Castking. On amazon for $30-$50. They do scratch easier, but sometimes they last for a few years.
Hardly an issue with only recent Vettes. Polarized lenses have been the answer for them all. I couldn't even be sure of driving safely into my garage stall without 'em.

Do the polarized lenses you mention work any better nowadays with LCD screens, HUD, etc? I stopped getting my prescription sunglasses polarized several years back because I was having trouble with LCD screens going dark, especially with the pile of displays in cars now. Wearing the last pair I had that were polarized, the HUD on my C7 would almost disappear completely. I have the Tension Blue interiors in both of mine and mostly used to the dash glare, but your post made me wonder about the newer lenses.
Yep, never was an issue with my 2014 C7 3LT Kalahari. Basically your mind can look past the reflection.
When I got my Natural Dipped 3LT 2020 C8 there was reflection glare. saw comments about Polarized glasses, which I had never tried.
I wear Titanium Frameless Progressive Transition glasses at all waking hours. In NE SC need sunglasses most days, as sunny. One issue is the windshield blocks UV and the glasses don't turn dark
Bought a pair of Polorized clip-on's. No real help, BUT I had picked a yellow tint. Bought the same brand with tan tint. Unbelievably, 100% of the reflection was gone. However they sat in their case in the console for 4 years in my 2020 C8 and now 2 years with my E-Ray (It has a dark olive green Artemis interior with no significant reflection.)
But even with the 2020 C8 Natural Dipped, I soon looked past any glare and didn't even notice. Your mind sees thru and past the reflection. Some can do that easier than others. I never did anything to try; it was just automatic.

The HUD was slightly dimmer in my C7 and it is the same with my C8 when I wear polarized sunglasses. However the HUD in my wife's Avalon completely disappears with polarized sunglasses. Some manufacturers don't get it right but Corvette did.
Proper eyesight is essential for safe operation of your C8. If you are having troubles with any glares from the dashboard, we strongly suggest bringing this to your dealer's attention as they may have some advise to provide relief. I had trouble with the "hockey stick" in the windshield, so I got some flat black paint and a small paintbrush and painted the middle one. No Hockey Stick reflection in middle

Your $, your car, but I would NEVER do that to my Vette. Black tape or removable vinyl maybe, but paint...Ugh!
My '23 HTC, 3lt black red stitch, has no reflection problem I've noticed.
I complain more about a low horizon sun and the sunvisor efficiency
Xraytom's photo of the hockey stick reflection, well, I could see some reflection complaints from that.
Not sure if polarized sunglasses would eliminate the complaint.
I'll comment the only cure is a flat black carpeted dash mat.
I've unlocked a cheat code for sunglasses. I ordered some fuse lenses for like $40 for my ray bans. I liked them so much I went on ebay and bought 3 frames only or with scratched lenses for $20-30 and put fuse lenses in all of them so I have a set in every car for 1/3 of the price. They have an amber lense that makes colors pop, they are awesome.
I did use a glossy ceramic detailer inside my C7 and it drove me crazy. On my C8 I use Chemical Guys Matte ceramic and it is pretty awesome. If you have too much reflection I would advise a good cleaner to strip whatever is making it pop and a matte protectant.
The other easy fix would be windshield protection film that is either inside like tint, or I see guys getting it put on the outside like a PPF, could dull some of the reflection.
I made a carpetel panel for the middle "hockey stick" for my 2020 and took it out for car shows. My 2026 has a different dash and I'm thinking about sliding a piece of black cardboard over that area. In the meantime, I use an old black sock when driving. It has the right contour. You can't always drive with polarized glasses.
