Apple Car Play
Ok, I figured this out after 3000 iterations trying just about everything. (iPhone 18.4.1 IOS, but I also upgraded to the latest beta 18.5 Beta 3 , but exact same issue)
First, go to Settings > System > "Return to Factory Settings"
Then "Erase Settings and Personal Data" (caveat, this does EXACTLY what it says
)
Remove the car from CarPlay on your phone ("Chevrolet" in my case)
Then I re-setup all my personal settings (add KeyFob back, set seats again, logged into my account with my same email and ran through all the settings to make sure things are where I like them.)
Touch "CarPlay" on the screen, open CarPlay on your iPhone and reconnect Wirelessly ...
Back in action, all working as it should.
I suggest deleting the phone from the car and then adding it back in. It should ask you if you want to enable CarPlay. I do this regularly with rental cars when I pick them up and then delete my stuff out before I return the car. Hope this helps.
After getting my Blackwing and connecting it with Car Play I now have random issues sometimes connecting in both cars - just assumed the iPhone was getting confused between the 2 cars.
When it happens I just shut down the iPhone and turn it back on and it immediately connects and works. It might connect okay in both cars for 2 weeks or 2 months until it happens again.
