Default Dealer Problems

Hey all, need some advice on how to handle this

I love on Maui, there's exactly one dealer here.

October 21, email my service rep about headlight condensation and bumper rubbing
Come in a few days later, show them the issue
Several emails back and forth, nothing happens.
I finally get an appt to get my trans filter done for 3 years, so i have them look again
The guy seems to have no idea, AND they don't have a filter on stock (appt has been booked 3 months)
Now, they approve one headlight condensation for warranty replacement, not even the one I sent them pictures and videos for. My warranty ends tomorrow. I started this in October.

How can I trust this dealer for anything? How can I buy another Corvette knowing I have to go here?

End of rant...

There is an escalation process in the owners manual. Basically, contact Chevrolet, customer service, contact the dealer service or general manager, and file a complaint with the BBB autoline dispute resolution process.

Make sure your condensation issue is permanent and not temporary. Here is a link to to some service bulletins for the headlight condensation and rubbing:

I would say that because you have documented the issue with the dealer before the warranty ended, GM would honor the warranty

It doesn't work that way.

My HTC top has a popping noise when I go over bumps. I brought in three times for service under warranty but the dealer was unable to fix it. The last time was a week before the warranty expired. When I called the dealer to fo see what they could do a week after the warranty expired they said they couldn't attempt to repair it under warranty. When I called Chevrolet Customer Care they said they would pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the diagnosis costs. Since they already tried three times and were unable to diagnose it correctly I figured that would just be an open checkbook for me. I decided not to pursue it any further and am hoping that someone else with the problem posts a fix.

Check out the PDF I attached to my post about HTC rattles, pops, squeaks, etc ...

The front latches may need adjustment on yours.

I tried lubricating the weatherstripping before I brought it in the first time. I didn't want to feel like an *** for bring the car in for service when the solution was in the owners manual.
I've seen that TSB before but it doesn't say anything about addressing a noise, it is for intermittent operation of the top. I considered trying to adjust it anyways but it just says to move the striker plate 2 mm so the hall effect device can detect the magnet. I figured I could mess up things if the magnet is currently properly being detected. But if someone reports that adjusting the latches fixed their popping noise I'd risk it.

Do the escalation process and be sure you provide a copy of all the documentation you have in dealing with your dealership. Best of luck and hope you can get some satisfaction and continue to enjoy your car.
