Default My lowly C8

I love my non Z51 lowly stingray!
Throw on my HRE F11 wheels and I couldn't be happier.
If I totaled my car tomorrow I would opt for the GSX, which I am very intrigued by, but just don't see the need to upgrade.
Throw in my gmpp until 2029 and I'm good.
Kudos to GM for what they have done with the C8 platform.
LMK when I can buy a C9.

There's absolutely nothing "lowly" about the base SR, and nobody should feel the need to justify why they "only" bought that trim level. The C8, in all of its forms, is far more car than anyone would need for a street only car. And I don't mean that in a sarcastic negative tone in any way. If you never plan to track it, even the base SR is far more capable than you would need even for a blast through the Tail of the Dragon at speeds that won't get you arrested or put the public in serious danger. It's an amazingly capable car and you really wouldn't miss any performance below 5/10ths driving.

You are not alone. I have a 2024 HTC Non-Z51. I like the smooth ride and that I can use Sport or Track Mode without stiffening the ride.
Love that a GS & GSX are coming but mostly excited about the new LS6 engine. So happy that maybe someday I will get a C8/C9 Stingray with the LS6 engine.
Well done Corvette Team! Looking forward to information that might be given at the NCM Bash later this month.

Non Z51, no msrc, no lift. 1LT with npp and a few other options. Works great for me.

The base car without all the fancy options is still a very capable sports car and does not break the bank. Owners should be pleased with the cars.

Mine is the same except I got red seat belts and forged rims. These were thrown in to sweeten the deal as the dealer took them off another C8

One thing for sure is that more than likely you will experience fewer failures and lower costs for repairs.

Non Z51 1LT here. Does have MRC though...absolutely zero issues or complaints.

Agree.

A few add-ons and wrapped the roof rails and pillars with Stek Dyno Black to match the sides of my transparent roof. Covered interior aluminum dash pieces and "waterfall" between seats with real carbon fiber. Some minor engine bay appearance tweaks as well.

I ordered my first C8 back in July of 2022 as a 2023 model year. I ordered a 1LT, non Z51, black 20 spoke wheels, bright red calipers and with the performance exhaust. She came in Elkhart Blue and was one beautiful Vette. I have a 25 Eray now with the lowly 1LZ trim currently and I love this one just as much.

Agree with posts. Some thoughts to add to the post that led me to buy 'just a Stingray'. A wide body- won't fit well in my garage with another car (every inch counts). Lower to the ground is not good from my view- as I live where there are potholes and hills and crappy roads ! I live in a congested area- even on interstate highways (which are always busy here) its hard to find an 'empty road' to really push the car, so that would be money wasted. All season tires- no need to change them and no place to store them if I did. I am not going to track the car- ever. 495 HP is plenty for me. It looks fantastic and its everything I need and more. I am over 6 feet and not 'slim', and I find the seats the most comfortable of any car I have driven. It has trunk space. Have gone on several trips with the wife for days and with the right luggage can fit quite a bit in there. I totally get the folks who are into track racing and have to have 'the best, and the most powerful' like the Z06's and the ZR1's. They are incredible cars, that I would not gain any marginal benefit from owning over my Stingray. For me that would be a waste of $$, but for others- how awesome is it that these are fully American automobiles at the price point they are at. It is amazing what these cars are for the money at all models and trim levels. Nothing beats them for the money. Nothing. Buying a used one- its even better from a value proposition. People I have met have challenged me - 'that must be alot of money for an impractical 2 seater..' uh, actually it's a whole lot cheaper than that Range Rover or BMW you are driving and whole lot better looking ! It's actually the same or cheaper to maintain. It's actually a whole lot more fun to drive. (2024 HTC, 2LT, Front lift only option)

At some point in time, maybe with the C9, the next generation SR will have a 2 liter, 4 cylinder, super/turbo charged engine that revs in the stratosphere. Probably not a lot of hyperbole here with this statement. Look at the many 2026 car models that feature turbo charged minuscule engines....for istance the 3 cylinder 1.2 liter turbo charged engines in some of GMs economy models...Ford has been touting these tiny engines for year.
