Bought my 2022 C8 HTC 2LT at MSRP in May of 22 after a 10 month wait. Smooth buying process and since the the car has performed well. Not sure why there are so many C8s for sale. Is it more than C7s? Or more than other mass produced specialty cars?
I had a C4 ragtop when I was in my mid 20s, (as well as several other sports cars since) but this is my 1st return to the brand. This car seems to produce more attention than any other car I've owned. I'm more of a low-key type guy, so I tend to park it out of site if I go to a gathering or sitting out at an outdoor restaurant/bar. I just prefer not to talk about the car for extended periods of time every time I take it out.
My guess would be that a lot of owners have other cars they drive or flip between models….I love my Z06 but It would be hard for me to put 4K miles a year on it in a year...

May not get much play here, I don't think most C8 owners who may have a regret and maybe got rid of it are going to post their dissatisfaction for buying it, could be a tad embarrassing, or don't want anyone to know their business, who knows?

This makes sense. I got rid of my Tundra because of the engine bearing problems. Once I got rid of it, I stopped participating in the Tundra forums.
As for the C8, I've had mine for almost 4 years and I still look forward to driving it. I have two other Corvettes and two other sports cars, but the C8 is my favorite, by a good margin.
Not a chance here! 3 years and 13k miles later still as exciting as day 1!
I am at 4-1/2 years and 49,000 miles of happy motoring. I loved my C6 GS vert and successive generations represent light-years of progress. My '22 Z51 HTC has performed well and I am enjoying every aspect of the experience.

No regrets. Low mileage here as well. Only 5k miles on my '24MY which was delivered in October of 2023.. Most of us on here own C8's as a 2nd or 3rd car. I have two other cars I have to split my time with.
Nope….no regrets. Recently traded my 23 Z51 3LT coupe at 21,000 miles for a 26 Z51 2LT coupe. My only C8 regret was on the 23 by getting the 3LT interior because of several dash delamination episodes…..when the warranty ran out I traded.
Just wondering if anyone has any regrets on buying there c8. Seem like I am seeing alot of c8s with very low miles up for sale. Thanks!
H3LL no. Owned for 3 1/2 years and only regret is not being able to drive it more--but I'm retired as of last November so I'll put on the miles as much as I can now.
Thats just the old guys with disposible income that upgrade yearly.
I recall that there was someone by the name of Hilverson that buys a new Covette EVERY YEAR. Maybe I'm thinking of another person? And he's been doing this for probably 40+ years.
I have loved all my 7 Vettes, the first a 1988. All have been DD's, my only vehicle. Have a Street Rod and with my wife's car NO ROOM for another! Been retired since 2000 and since been getting new Vettes every 3 to 4 years. Typically have <15,000 miles. Have sold all on my own and get top $ because all are in great shape. Haven't had an accident with another car in 67 years!
BUT I like NEW and prefer having GM be responsible for all issues on warranty. My 2024 E-Ray in the best Vette of all, AWD allows me to drive in even heavy rain. Have hit 2.1 seconds a number of times on the GM Dash 0 to 60 test using Launch Control. It's a blast, hard to appreciate the acceleration at Launch. Faster than my 3000 lb street rod with an 8.2 Liter Big Block set back in a ridgid 4 bar link rear suspension chassis. It has 53% of its weight on the rear and even wider tires than the 345 E-Ray. The Mickey Thompsons tires in metric are 420. It's a beast at launch BUT does not match the E-Ray.
All that said can't wait to get my 8th Vette a 2027 GSX! 721 hp and gobs of torque at 0 rpm!
There are two different groups. The people that just want to get a C8 to experience it and then trade it for something else or upgrade to a new one and the people that stretched to be able to buy it and realize those $1600 /month car payments along with the $200/month+ insurance premiums and the $70/tank fill up were just too much to handle.
When the C9 is introduced, there will be a whole new glut of trade-ins available as well.
With these kind of cars that are not very practical I think alot of people buy them thinking they will be fine with spending the money even if they don’t drive a lot and after owning them either don’t enjoy it as much as they thought or don’t have the opportunity to drive it as much as they hoped and sell them because they are uncomfortable with the amount of money tied up in it.
I’m sure corvettes are like any other car. Some are so financially stable that they could drive them off a cliff and not have it impact their life at all but would imagine may people buy them even if it’s a stretch purchase.
