The rumored "ZORA" model was never something Chevrolet or GM put forth, all of those rumors were only from fan boys.
I recall reading that GM trademarked the name "Zora" so it is more than a rumor regardless of whether they actually decide to market it or not.
it doesn't mean it's a new model, it just protects any other car manufacturer from using it in the future. Imagine the Ford Zora. I worked at Motorola and we came up with a new phone product called Droid. Lucas Productions sued us for copyright infringement, thus we moved to term Android as it wasn't protected. Lucas had the foresight to copyright the term Droid years earlier to protect the future. Being the name Zora is so connected to Corvette, I could see GM doing it for future protection. I believe the Zora side profile image is copyrighted as well. In my engineering days I was tasked with submitting copyrights. Most times we did it simply to protect great work we didn't want others to pirate, especially the likes of the Chinese! Many times if we were done with work or didn't need it we sold it. I am sure GM does this regularly on many products.
