I'm thinking of getting rid of OnStar and would like to know if anyone knows how to connected to a WiFi hotspot on their I phone?
I may not understand your question or maybe your not asking it right but…….if WiFi is turned on on your iPhone then you will see all available WiFi access points within range, including “hotspots”, if you tap on the one you want you will connect to it. Keep in mind most are secure and require you knowing the password to connect to it…I hope this helps..
He wants the car to see his phone as an external network - a hotspot. You have to put your phone in hotspot mode. Then in the car menu, under networks (on my 2021) , the phone should be listed as an available network. Connect to it. There's more steps - someone that has done this recently can chime in.
Make sure you set a password on the SSID of the phone when it's in hotspot mode.
Or every wifi hungry nearby phone or device will connect to your phone, as well.
If you've got an unlimited data plan, that would help a little.
