Default Head-Up Display

I have a 2026 Stingray. I can set the HUD according to the instructions on Page 108 and it stays while the car is running. The next time I start the car, the display reverts back to the incorrect setting. There's probably a simple solution but it has evaded me.

How do I lock in my settings?

I had the same issue. The settings are tied to the seat settings. Make sure you've set up a profile in the system for the correct key fob and then set your seat, steering wheel and mirrors, along with your HUD settings. Once those are set, Press the Set button on the drivers door, followed by the number that corresponds to the key fob you're using.

Slightly off-topic, but I wonder if that is the same thing I need to do to get my Z-Mode gauges to remain in Sport display... They seem to always revert to Track display. I like both, but I use Sport more often.

I do not know the details for the 2026, but for the 2021, the display theme (Weather, Tour, Sport or Track themes) and the HUD view can be customized independently in both Z and MyMode. I prefer the track setting for both on mine, because in that model year (2020-2024 I think if not later) the Track display theme allows selection of 4 different info tiles. All of the others only allow two info tiles. That may be very different in the 2026? In any case this feature, customizing the display theme and the HUD view in Z and MyMode are not done as part of the seat memory.

Yeah I've done the customization, but it seems to revert to track mode every few days or so. But I also don't recall saving my seat memory AFTER doing it. I am trying to find an explanation for this other than "the software is quirky".

As for the HUD, I haven't had it randomly reset the HUD theme on me regardless of which seat memory I am using...

Things change and the 2026 uses very different displays and maybe menus. In my 2021 I never did a seat memory save after customizing the display and HUD in Z and MyMode. Of course I was sitting in the car with my key fob when I was setting up the displays, so I was recognized as driver 1. But mine always comes back the same as I set them in either of those modes.

When setting the HUD brightness, position, and rotation, I did use the seat save feature. But not for the actual views.

Are you talking about a 2026? If so, you only have the ability to show one gauge on the left of the main screen. Also the gauges available may be influenced by the driving mode you have selected, i.e., track vs sport. Fro 2026, the right side of screen is limited to showing with audio or phone and won't show anything else. The far left screen on the 2026 has the ability to also show performance gauges but again mostly one at a time.

If you have a 1LT or 1LZ you don't have memory seats. My Z06 has HUD and no seat memory, don't think it's seat that it's tied to.

The OP's question was regarding the 2026. For my 2026 2LT the HUD position is definitely tied to the seat settings.

The position, rotation, and brightness on my 2021 is also tied to seat setting. But the HUD view and the DIC display theme are not. They are tied to the driver mode selection. For Weather, Tour, Sport, and Track, they will use the requisite displays. For Z and MyMode I have customize the displays, both the HUD and the DIC, and I did not do a seat save for that. I did set them up with my key fob in the car - and they might be associated with the key fob - I have not test that with the other fob. But mine are not tied to the seat memory.

How is it tied to the seat for 2026 when it's a 1LZ with HUD?

I have no idea. All I can confirm is that when I got my 2026 2LT, the HUD Position did not stay where I set it between starts until I reset the memory seat.

This procedure works on my 2026.

The best I can determine is that it is on Pg 44.

Correct. Under Saving Seating Position, Item 2 on page 44: "Adjust all available memory features to the desired driving position." While poorly written, this does include the seat, steering wheel, side mirrors and HUD positions.

Poorly written in the sense that nowhere does it ever tell you that the HUD position a memory feature at all does it? Also, was the OP question about the HUD position, or the HUD view (tour, sport, or track). Is the HUD view also included in the seat memory feature? On the 2021 it is not - rather it is part of the display design options - which are also remembered in the 2021 but not as part of the seat position save.

Yes, the HUD position is never identified as a Memory feature in the 2026 owner's manual. I discovered that it was when I first got my 2026 and the HUD position changed on every start. The OP's question was about the HUD position and not the HUD view, which I don't believe is a memory feature (that said, I've not changed the HUD view in mine to test it.)
