This isn't a political thing, just curious...

Looking at a C8 sticker, I was surprised to see US/Canadian parts content is only 40%.
Mexico is 31% (not sure why they don't lump Mexico in with US and Canada and just call it North America).

So, where does the other 29% (almost a third of the car) come from?

Are any major components assembled overseas or just miscellaneous parts (computer parts from Asia and the like.)?

I know the forged wheels are made in China.

They don't lump Mexico into US/Canada because the Parts Source Disclosure Requirements have certain mandates:

2026 Parts Source Disclosure Requirements
  • U.S./Canadian Parts Content: The label must show the percentage (by value) of equipment that is sourced from the U.S. and Canada.
  • Major Foreign Sources: If any country other than the U.S./Canada contributes 15% or more of the equipment content, it must be listed by name and percentage (maximum of top two countries).
  • Engine & Transmission Origin: The specific country of origin for the engine and transmission must be listed.
  • Final Assembly Point: The city, state, and country of final assembly must be disclosed.
  • Exclusions: Parts content information does not include costs for assembly, distribution, or non-parts, except for the engine and transmission.
