I’ve had my C8 for over two years. Suddenly it has started making a clacking sound (artificially generated that sounds like a wooden cowbell or someone playing the gourd) when I shift into park! What the heck is that about and how do I turn it off? I can find nothing on the internet or in my manual. I’m sure this is something simple I turn on by mistake somehow? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I just went and recorded the sound and attached it. I’m new to the forum and not super tech savvy but hope it works so you will know what I am talking about.

I don't see an attachment.
I have had my 2026 for about 4 months and haven't heard anything like that...
Nothing on the screen. It does sound like some sort of notification or warning but ….. nothing. Maybe someone else will chime in with an answer. I did notice it does not always happen to make it more confusing. Bazaar.

Looked at and listened to the recording - I hear a chime, and I hear the clack, I see your tach change, and I see that you are due for an oil change. I checked mine - I hear a chime, I see the tach change when I shift to park. I do not hear that other sound. Any chance it started with the Change Oil Soon Message? (I doubt it).

It's a "Notification" sound. Check the infotainment screen. Could be someone just sent you a text (unread) to your phone if it's paired to Bluetooth but also go to "Settings" and scroll down to "Updates" to see if any OTA updates are pending.
Mine was making a weird noise at some point and I even posted here. It turned out that it was playing like a brief second of the last song I had on the usb drive. I unplugged the usb drive and it stopped.
I notice you have a "change engine oil soon" on your screen. The chime may be letting you know you have a notification on the screen. Clear the message and see if you still get the chime.
More times than not, I forget and leave the phone in the charger when I exit the vehicle. Rather than the message on the Driver Information Center which I usually fail to see, I would prefer a voice prompt upon exiting that I left the phone in the charger. As far as the OP's issue, I never push the Park button but merely turn off the car and it automatically goes to Park. Maybe trying that will eliminate the sound that you mentioned. Good luck
I have a 24. Mine has been doing the same clacking noise every time turn it off. No idea what’s causing it. Haven’t brought it in for service to have it checked yet. If anyone finds out pls post
