Get rid of AFM
Loose the two golf bag requirement and reduce weight and length of car. Also gives more flexibility in rear end styling.
Offer the car in a fixed roof to further reduce weight
Allow My Mode to have the same full customization parameters as Z Mode
Make Mode sticky. Do not default back to Tour if anything other than My Mode has been selected

AFM is required to get these power levels and avoid GGT. Blame government.

Golf bags aren’t a requirement - They want the car a convertible (targa) to avoid having to do side curtain airbags. I’m not sure why, but that’s why there is no solid roof coupe. Whole rear of car is designed around fitting the roof panel. The targa is even shortened vs C5/6/7 and rear hatch has a recessed area so tight that if it’s not latched properly it will chip.

Agree that myMode should have full customization… and it already is a captured mode.

For me it is pretty simple.

1. A sound system with good bass and an 8 band active EQ. Include some good features like bass boost, or loudness.
2. Sun visors that work. More height and the ability to fold all the way down like all other cars.
3. A bullet proof dependable DCT. Mine has been trouble free for 12K, but many others have not been so lucky.
I second you on the sun visors.

Agreed I dont get why we cant set any of the modes. I mean we have 5 settings why not let us move the bars around as we see fit.

Better location for parking brake button. C7 location is great.

Loose weight, optional race seats such as those available in the Porsche GT, not a big fan of electronic diff.

Lighter, a side window, no brake dust, no AFM, grill guards standard.

Agree. Plus as other posters have noted, my observations are;

1. Have gearbox go into neutral when power fails.

2.Proper insulation of front and rear trunks so are not pizza warmers. Insulate front trunk tub and heat tape lagging the front radiator cross over pipes. Insulate rear trunk from engine and exhaust muffler heat by lagging exhaust pipes including headers and muffler to the exhaust tips. I really notice the heat buildup in the trunks, especially the rear trunk as ambient temperature gets very warm here in Australia.

3.Do not have Sport, Z and Track mode after being setup default to Tour mode on next start up. Also the semi rotary switch for selection of mode is not positive enough imho. Suggest a simpler switch or three separate buttons.

4. Blind spot camera required when approaching road intersections at an angle on passenger side!.

5. Definitely agree that doors are too wide leading to car being trapped in close in parking with difficult if not impossible, driver ingress.

6. Delamination of the leather on the dash for 3LT models when cabin temperature gets warm when parking with windows closed.

7. Don't mind the AFM as seamless when switching from V4 to V8.

I use my RHD C8 Stingray 3LT Z51 as a daily driver in Tour mode and in Z mode for the exhaust note.
Love the targa roof facility and storage in the rear trunk.
The C8 is superior to my Gallardo for touring as more driver space and luggage space available and similar performance.
And Corvette, please do not introduce 'stop start' of the engine as many European cars now have. Very infuriating if present, even if can disable temporarily.

The C8 is a great value car with all its features and performance, and so glad I have one, even though it costs US$150k in Australia!

Default improving a c8

There are a lot of things that we would like to see on the C9 Corvette. But I think hey should focus on one more model. THE ZORA !! Lighten the car by removing all luxury items that contribute to weight
Thinner glass, less or no insulaion, remove the power steering wheel, radio delete, manually adjusted carbon fiber seats, etc, etc,

I wonder how many agree with you on what the Zora should be.

Do not put any type of sensors in this car that would prohibit a human from starting and driving it.

I don't know but the Zora should be a track focused car and of course the highest horsepower of all Vetts.

Absolutely...refuse to pay this premium on a 100K car.
also would be nice if they stopped OnStar from reporting us to the Insurance Companies.

I miss the cubby behind the stereo in the C7. There is no where to put anything in the C8. That is my only complaint other than no adaptive cruise.

Wow, some excellent suggestions (less weight, more headroom, solid roof coupe, 7/8 size), but the Corvette Team has to design the C9 so it is easy to manufacture and still a "Corvette" for the faithful and new owners to want. For all of those people that want more content, it means more weight and at almost 4K pounds, the C8 is too heavy. If I was designing the C9, or really the C8.5, I would offer a stripped down fixed-roof "Stingray Speed Coupe" model (3K lbs), manual offered or auto as an option, without all the creature comforts (AC, CC, software packages, etc.) that add weight and complexity. This lite-weight, fixed-roof coupe would be the speed demon a lot of people want for the street/track. From this model, add in creature comforts (weight) and cost to come up with a standard Stingray, Grand Sport/GSX with the LS6 engine. The follow-on models (Z06, ZR1/ZR1X, Zora) would offer all the power/creature comforts currently available in the C8 line (weight from 3.7K to 4.1K lbs). This way, people that want a relativity inexpensive (55-60K $$), put pure joy to run, get what they want, while people that want more power and creature comforts can have them with the Z06 and above models. However, I doubt that the Corvette Team will be able to offer anything close because the corporate bean counters will not allow them to risk the current pot of gold that is the C8. When the C9 (or C8.5) comes out in 2030, we will have more of the same and left to wish we had something different. Time will tell.

I would say weight savings would be the best thing they could do. Top of the line stereo is pretty underwhelming to say the least for the price of C8's.

How about cleaning up the constraints that have plagued the C8 from basically start to finish. You're god damn GM making 6M+ vehicles a year in this world. Any carbon fiber manufacturer or wheel manufacturer should be bending the knee to you for that contract and producing the quantities needed.

One more from me...how about not waiting seven model years into the C9 generation before bringing a Grand Sport to the lineup this time.

Thank the global wars we have ongoing. Defense uses a lot of CF and pays more than GM.

You don’t understand it’s done this way by design?
