Don't know what Model you have . But if you have the Z51 package the brake pads may have stuck to the rotors if it was raining all night during your shift they may have got wet (metal impregnated pads). Use to happen on my Camaro and I know it happens on My Vette.
"I heard like a thump in the rear" = They can be a little surprising when they come unstuck.
