Default Protective coating - what do you use?

Overwhelming how many products you have to choose from now to protect your paint, I don't know where to begin? When I received my C7 years ago, I used Dawn to remove previous coatings and then I used Blackfire Total Polish & Seal for the base and then Prima Hydro after each wash. Now I see something called ceramic coating.?

Expecting my C8 any day now. What would be your process and products? Thanks so much in advance!!

I had mine ceramic coated with crystal serum. Super easy to wash and take care of. I was just texting the guy who did it the other day that it takes me longer to set everything up to wash the car than it does to actually wash it. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Xpel ppf and Xpel ceramic coating - professionally installed. Hard to beat it for protection and gloss/shine.

I use Liquid Armor ceramic. Comes in a paste form. H9 hardness. Easy to apply. The detail spray works well with it for a quick shine.

My 2026 Stingray is currently at my PPF installer getting wrapped with Xpel and Xpel ceramic coating. This is the best protection I have found over the last 10+ years.

Adams GRAPHENE Ceramic. The "nine year" stuff, not the spray on, is what's in the C8.

If you're thinking of doing it yourself, keep in mind that best results come if you do all the steps of paint correction first. It's less time consuming with a NEW car, but should still be done for best results.

I have the "one year" Adams Graphene Spray On on my other vehicles, all professionally applied, with proper paint correction. I use Adams Graphene BOOST as a drying agent when I wash the car(s) and even the one year is holding up well after more than a year. All cars are parked outside (the C8 under a car port) all year long. I'm still getting little 3/8" or less beading when it rains on them.

I still need to clay the car(s) especially when the pollen starts in the spring. (Using graphene detail spray as a lubricant for the clay)

I use Griots products. I use the surface prep pad, by hand, on the paint, lubricated with Griots Speed Shine. It functions as a synthetic clay bar. It is not abrasive. But it does leave the surface very very clean and smooth. And, I use Griots Best of Show liquid wax. For detailing, I use Griots best of show detailer. It can be used in direct sunlight if necessary.

I also use the surface prep pad on glass. Again, its not a polish, not abrasive. But its good at removing impurities.

1) Paint correction a must. Then PPF followed by Ceramic coat. I use Adams mega foam and also use Gyeon detail spray....
Can't beat the shine on a black car.. But most important find what works for you and have fun!!!!

I use one of these after and between washes. I do my own clay bar and polish every couple years.

There are about as many preferences as there are options... and the number keeps growing. Do an "Advanced search" across any C-series Forum section here and find a gazillion threads about coating.

I use Adams 9 year advanced Graphene Ceramic. All of my products are Adams, including car wash foam cannon, detail spray, graphene spray, double soft towels, etc.

Icon Rocklear. 2 coats. Right now the C8 has 1 coat complete and 2nd coat in 2 weeks. I have used this on 6 other cars two of which were Corvettes. I've been happy with the results. It must be applied by a licensed shop.

As far as product lines go, I use both Adams and Griots. They both have some products that are "better" ( I like more ) than the other. But this thread is about Paint Protection, so I won't go too tangential.

Soap, Adams Mega Foam, OR Griots, Foaming Surface Wash. Mega Foam can be used in direct sunlight (and smells better).
Detailer, Griots Best In Show Detailer or Adams Graphene Detailer. tho the Griots as mentioned earlier can be used in direct sunlight.
Clay, Griots or Adams. or Griots Clay Bar Pad, or Nano Skin. Adams clay comes in grades.
