I haven't been active on this great forum for several years. Just started thinking about a 2027 Stingray. My question is, if I chose magnetic ride option does it still allow you to select between comfort and other settings as it did in the past? It looks like the dial for changing ride modes is no longer there. I do not feel I will need the z51 package, or do I need to add that to make it change the ride dynamics? I would like to be able to change the comfort settings.
You can toggle through the different drive modes using the button on the console. You can also set the different MSRC suspension modes in My Mode and Z-Mode. You don't need Z51 to get MSRC.

Mode button is the toggle that is on the center console south of the gear selector switches, not a rotary **** anymore.
Every C8 has the mode selector, whether it has Mag Ride or not.
And the mode you would be referring to is called "Touring" on the C8.
Each mode has its own unique program for the Mag Ride.
Mine's a '23 non Z51 with the mag ride. You can definitely feel the differences between tour, sport and track. Whether or not you need the Z51 option usually sparks endless debates. I'm guessing 90%+ corvette owners don't track their cars, but even spirited driving a non Z51 can get pretty "spirited". Of course in the end it's your decision 👍
I have owned Z51's in the past. I felt no real need for it on the 8 so I passed when ordering it BUT when it comes to MR, my last four Corvettes have all had Mag Ride and I would not own one without it... that's just me because I'm crazy like dat. It is A LOT of technology for a little bit of money and well worth it in my opinion.

Dare I say the 4th-generation Magnetic Ride Control in the C8 Corvette and Cadillac Blackwing may be one of the best technologies GM has ever developed. Moving from mechanical ride-height sensors in the 3rd generation to accelerometers in the 4th generation made a noticeable improvement. Most people associate Mag Ride with changing shock stiffness when switching between Tour, Sport, and Track modes. While it certainly does that, the real magic is that the system is constantly monitoring road conditions and adjusting the dampers in real time regardless of which mode you’re in. The selected mode simply changes the baseline calibration and how aggressively the system responds.
And yes, if you order Magnetic Ride, you still have access to the different drive modes and can select a more comfortable ride or a sportier setup. You do not need the Z51 package to benefit from Magnetic Ride or to adjust the ride dynamics.
Where I live the roads are bumpy , cracked...not nice so I got a standard suspension with mag ride ...very impressive how the car is smooth for a sports car !
Is it possible to get the Z-51 option with Mag ride? I know you could not on a C-6.
Yes, in fact the only way you could get MSRC in 2020 was if you ordered Z51. And having both Z51 and MSRC is still the only way to get Performance Traction Management.

Yes, using the mode selector you can select through Tour, Sport and Track, which adjust all settings to each mode. You can also use MyMode and ZMode to set individual customizations of various settings (i.e. you can use MyMode to set Tour suspension, Sport steering & brakes, and Track exhaust and then leave it in MyMode, which will hold across ignition cycles.
I have it on my '26. I believe it is "set" in tour, sport, track & weather modes. Can be adjusted in my mode and perhaps Z mode. Did not look it up for sure.
I have the base suspension without Mag Ride and it rides way better than my two C7's and C6. I can't see mag ride getting much better but I could be wrong. My daily is a Cadillac Lyriq so I know a smooth ride.
Both were available options on C6's and you could have both on same C6.
Same with C8.
You could not get magnetic ride with Z51 on the C6. If you wanted mag ride, you needed the base suspension. C7 was the first gen where you could get mag ride with Z51.

Mag ride does a whole lot more than just provide a smooth ride. In my opinion, the smooth ride is least important part of this must have option.
I can feel the difference when I went from my C8 Stingray with standard suspension to my new E-Ray with mag ride. I would recommend and give a thumbs up for mag ride when ordering a new car.
Mag Ride for the win. It is even more impressive on my air ride Denali Yukon, in normal mode it is so smooth and soft it’s crazy it’s an suv, put it in sport and it’s another vehicle all together.

I have the same set up. If I was going to track a car I would get Z51 + mag ride, otherwise I can't think of any use for it and it is just one more complicated gadget to go wrong if it is not doing something for you, you can't push the car hard enough on public roads to make the excellent base suspension misbehave without risking death and the ride is otherwise very comfortable. Haven't owned a mag ride car but did spend a couple days in one at the Ron Fellows course.

Don't forget the non-Z51 has a mechanical limited slip differential, not the electronic (eLSD) that the Z51 has. Some prefer the mLSD (I'm in that camp), but it wasn't the primary reason I chose a non-Z51 w/magride.
