From my dealer today. Not my car, though mine is behind it in line for the service.
Looks like you remove the panel to get to the air filter, then remove the air filter housing. Not the end of the world.
From the service bulletin on this procedure, there were a few bolts that if you removed, would bork the whole trans. Thankfully none of them appear readily visible and lurking there
My dealer will also be flushing out the OE brake fluid with a track-worthy equivalent, will share if anything unusual comes of the process.
Nice... I saw Alan post those today on FB. Those other bolts you see are the shift shaft supports and will FUBAR the trans. The fill plug is a different color and has a femal hex insert vs. a bolt head; you can see it sitting on the tub there facing up. Let us know how the brake flush goes. What fluid are you going with?
Why are you installing a racing brake fluid now? GM says the car needs to have 1500 miles on it before taking it to a track. That could take a few weeks. I usually change my brake fluid before a track event if it is over 4 weeks old.

Bill
Mostly logistics. The dealer who has it has track-savvy techs, and if there end up being any complications in bleeding the fluid on the new platform, they will be best equipped to sort through it. I plan to have the car on track within a week and a half of delivery to me, so there won’t have been a lot of time for the fluid to have gone bad, especially in dry and warm San Diego.

One of which already blew up on LGs car last night on a 100 shot. Stock tires.
Someone posted they thought axle broke... but that is usually collateral damage and a misdiagnosis in any independent rear suspension car when that happens.

There’s literally a picture of the broken half shaft.
