C8 Corvette Breaks Into The 10s With Nitrous Oxide

At least the article title is correct and not misleading.

Interesting, some recent times have been relatively strong.

Once the article stated the vette made 440 despite not reaching the 500 mile mark it lost my respect for accuracy. A simple search shows you that has nothing to do with gears 3+..

the same car with same mods has gone similar (yet slower) with a 100lb female at the wheel. 100 shot.

Don't know if this is the same one, but the first C8 has been broken at the drag strip too... https://www.powernationtv.com/post/a...the-drag-strip

Ms Emelia is actually the only one to datalog this car so far at the track and if what she is saying is correct, that the car is pulling major timing with the 100 shot.

So looks like a 50 shot is all the car will take, and anything above that is useless as the car pulls timing automatically. That is why she ran a similar time to Mark Carlyle (10.65 @ 130) with a 50 shot versus her run (10.73 @ 127) even though she was using a 100 shot. She may have been spraying more nitrous, but might have actually been making the same or less power. (Excluding DA differences which is a whole different factor)

What this potentially means is, no 9 second passes with spray until tuning becomes available in the coming weeks/months. I've spoken to Mark Carlyle about this and he was feeling the same thing before seeing Ms Emelia's post and he agrees that it sounds correct.

did you ask him about the tonal differences during the runs he posted when shifting from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th? sounded like a manual with a slipping clutch. any feedback on what it was like in the car?

are you suggesting that Carlyle didn't log the runs?

I'm not suggesting, I'm telling you for a fact. I've been in contact with him quite a bit over the last week. They did baseline runs for track information, but did not hook a computer up to it no. Neither did LG nor ECS.

Surprised they wouldn't using the N2o. LG as well. ECS? No n2o what's the point? Especially since the DA was good and they ran 100 octane.

Nothing about that trans though? Maybe torque management on upshifts? Sure sounds sloppy in higher gears on nitrous runs.
