Hello! I'm posting this in hopes that somebody with a C8 would be kind enough to give me some help diagnosing my non-operating glove box door. The issue is when I push the glove box release button, the door no longer opens (lowers). I've tried assisting it by applying a downward pressure simultaneously to pressing the release button. I've also tried pushing the door in a tighter closed position while pressing the release button just in the event the latch was ill fitting and under friction hence not releasing. Here is how you could help, please:
1) In a quiet garage, while holding the door closed preventing it from opening, press the release button. Do you hear only a very faint sound of a relay (this is what I hear) or is there a louder sound of a latch solenoid triggering?
2) Next, open you glove box door and take a few photos of the latch mechanism. This would be an image of the latch component that is a part of the door itself. Also an image of the release mechanism as it is part of the dash board.
Ideally you'd post your response and images here for other's benefit, however sending it via Private Message on this forum is great as well. I could take it to the dealer, however from my experience the less exposure to service departments the better. Your help will be much appreciated! Thank you!

Well I can't find it either, but I know I did not dream it. I even tried on the midengine forum. Why don't you post it in General and someone will respond. I believe the other guy solved the problem with his.
Don't know about a C8 (still waiting for mine), but C7 has a small, removable plug on the right end or the dashboard (open passenger side door to see the right side of the dashboard). On a C7, pop off the plug and then reach in with a long 1/8" ratchet extension, you can push a manual release lever for the glove box. I'm guessing the Bowling Green boys made a similar provision on the C8. Give it a look.
Thank you, Al! It is similar on the C8. After removing the black plastic end-trim (the part that faces the door), you'll see a hexagon shaped nylon "nut." If rotated using a socket and extension the glovebox will open.
