**Magnaflow Exhaust Update - I didn't spec out my C8 with the NPP exhaust, as the C7 I owned had it and although it was cool, I wanted a bit MORE sound, and ALL THE TIME - and I didn't like how the system would intermittently be deactivated under certain Throttle positions/driving modes.
GM kept insisting that the non NPP cars would still have the ability to alter the exhaust sound, but the reality is toggling between the "Touring" and "Sport" exhaust sound yields ZERO change on my car. The damn thing sounded like a Cadillac, and was extremely underwhelming
I volunteered my C8 to MagnaFlow to let them further develop their aftermarket system they will be coming to market with, and BOY HAVE THEY EVER! They had the car for 3 weeks to test, dyno and fine-tune everything, and evidently they now have their own proprietary AFM valves that will be part of the system they sell to the public. The AFM valves are the ones that facilitate the transition from the cars V8 mode to V4 freeway cruising mode. It works flawlessly and if I'm not mistaken, the transition seems smoother than it was stock .
As for the exhaust sounds this new system makes, it's awesome! *Plenty of volume now, and it sounds great even with the top on and windows up . Yet at freeway speeds it's quiet. I would have no qualms about taking long trips in this car.
The BEST part I'm learning is how this exhaust system is now letting the DCT display all it's true character! *The positive, crispness of each shift with just a hint of supercar pop between shifts under hard acceleration *The slight Burbles that you can modulate and produce on deceleration......This C8 now feels/sounds just like my sportbikes that have the quick-shifters - Crisp, instantaneous shifting as fast as you can bang thru the gears without using the bikes clutch, and distinct enough for any enthusiast to immediately identify what they just heard blast past them
