Default TPMS relearn tool

Does the C8 use the same TPMS relearn tool as other GM cars? I have a 2017 GMC Yukon and I want one tool that does both.

Yes, but the c8 will learn on its own. You can use the relearn tool, but read the owners manual about self relearning

Thanks. Don't have my C8 yet. 520 on MacMulkins list. I just need one for my GMC Yukon and was wondering. Nice to know It will relearn on its own.

I think this only applies to the original TPMS sensors. I have a C8 with a new set of track wheels with new sensors. It didn't self learn unless there's a step I'm missing...

I put new wheels on mine with a second set of GM sensors and it relearned on its own. I did nothing to calibrate the new sensors.

My problem was probably not using OEM sensors...

I did the same. I even got an e-mail from On Star stating all my tires were flat.

My C8 (1300 miles) has lost its TPMS. When I try to get tire pressures, all I get is a Relearn button. I press it, and it says to hold it for 5 seconds to start the learning process. When I do, it just reverts to the Relearn button. Once it tried to start, but stopped after about 15 seconds. Does anybody have any suggestions, other than take to my dealer? Thanks.

New sensors need to be activated/ programmed prior to being mated to the vehicle so they show an individual id number. Most dealers or tire stores have the activation tool to do this so they can use aftermarket sensors.

Default Learning suggestion

If you use aftermarket Tpms sensors and they are even programmed and your c8 won’t relearn them try lowering the tire pressure below 10 pounds . I use Autel Mx on my track rims and that is what I had to do I also own the programming tool.

The 2022 TPMs have a new sequence and the old tool won't work and the procedure in the owner's manual doesn't work. I have to take mine to the dealers to marry my new wheels to the car.

Can anyone else confirm the above? If this is true, then when I install my aftermarket wheels and second set of TPMS I have to go to my dealer? What a mess.

The tool that works on my 2018 Equinox doesn't not work on my C8. My local mechanic told me his up-to-date 2021 fancy tool won't work on 2022 cars. I'm taking mine to the dealer on Thursday. New Frequency I miss typed.

Im not sure but for the price of a Starbucks coffee its a roll of the dice I was willing to take.
I bought a set of the generic ebay EZSensor made bySchrader. They came with the $5 tool. Im not sure if the car just picked them up on its own or if the tool enabled the relearn but they work. Im getting a set of GM sensors for my 3rd set of wheels.
EDIT: All 4 EZSensors stopped working/reading. Guess I'm buying factory GM sensors.
