Does the C8 have a maintenance mode?

Does the C8 have a maintenance mode?
I had by wheel alignment set to the track settings today and the mechanic had difficulty setting up the equipment. I believe the car was in neural and lifted off the tires. He put the alignment device on a rear tire and tried to turn the tire. As soon as he did this the parking brake engaged. Is there a 'mode' the car can be placed in to prevent this?

Can anyone confirm this info?
- Ignition ON — Engine Running.
- Apply the brake pedal.
- Open the door.
- Shift to Neutral.
- Release Parking Brake.
- Turn off the engine and release the brake pedal.
- The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat steps 2–5.
- Exit the vehicle and close the door.
